I have not. That’s some sort of electronic chess board, right?
I would be too afraid of my dogs eating the pieces to spend that much.

Thought this was neat. My year at chess.com. I prefer Lichess for tournaments and arenas - wonder how many games I played total.

Are we doing the 23rd and 27th, or just 27th?

That was a good time—even if I did come 4th of 5! Lots of chaos in all of the games it seemed.

I think 3|2 is fairly standard for blitz, so we could try that? Even 5|5 was wild but I'm fine with more chaos!

Oh man, sorry I missed this! I had a last minute dinner with some family from out of town and it was unavoidable.

Sorry I missed it guys. My washer broke down, so I ended up dealing with it. Missed most of the game as well. Who won? How was it? More fun than the daily format?

I do think it’s more fun than the daily format, but that may be my ADHD talking. The games (at least mine) were pretty chaotic though. I had some hilarious blunders that I don’t think I would do if I wasn’t under time pressure.

The candidates tournament starts tomorrow in Toronto. Is anyone going to follow it?
Fabi and Hikauru are the favourites with a thought the Americans have an advantage not having to travel to Europe for this one.
Would be interesting to see one of them become the challenger. With Ding struggling we could see the first American world champion since Fischer.

I am following closely.
put me in team Gukesh, or Abesov or anyone but Hikaru really.
We can start another tourney if people want to play.

I'm down for another tournament. I kind of liked the blitz tournament we had a little while ago - that would be my vote over correspondence

An exciting day 2 of the candidates after all draws on day 1. All 4 games were decisive with Hikaru being the first to lose in only 29 moves against Vidit. Queens Gambit, Sicilian, and Spanish seem like the popular openings so far.
Would be cool to have a double round robin like the candidates but not sure how practical that would be. I missed the blitz tourney so keen for one of those again. Or daily is good too happy with whatever.
