Better yet: Connor Mcleod one side , Kurgan on the otherside whole bunch of lightning all over. Along the bottom of the chin, " There Can Only Be One. "

Yeah I totally get it, but it's still ugly.

I get the concept but it could have been executed much MUCH better.
Not a fan of the artist, but Smith must be, or he's a buddy or something.

Bryzgalov let his kids draw his mask in Edmonton. I'm all for it looking bizarre if your kids did it themselves.

An artist's rendering of someone else children is not pleasant to my eyes.

It would be so cool to be a kid and watch your dad wear a helmet with your face on it.. It would be even cooler to be on the helmet as one of The Incredibles.

Great point. The mask isn’t “for his kids” in that we know he loves them. It’s literally for his kids. They are coming to think it’s the coolest thing ever, and that’s what matters. Same as last year. Never mattered how cool they looked

But I'm nearly 30 and nobody's even asked me to play goalie in pickup hockey for 12 years, so someone else can have it.
Need to make sure one of the Hobbits is Johnny. McDavid can be Gollum

Way better than last years. The art isn’t the greatest but I like the idea.

I'm not sure what is worse. Art critics that over play how brilliant some average piece of art is, or amateur critics over playing how terrible the execution of a caricature on a goalie mask is.

For the record I think that it's fine, and if his kids think it's great then it is.

It's pretty bad when amateurs can so easily spot the many areas of terrible execution.

If his kids like it, which I am sure they do, that's great - it doesn't take away from the fact that it is poorly executed and that there are plenty of talented artist's who could have nailed this mask and his kids would have loved it just as much, if not more.

Meh. As soon as you make the Calgary Tower the tallest thing in any picture, realism has kind of gone out the window.

I took a really good look at the Tower from the south the other day. It looked like Peter Dinklage reviewing his Lannister troops.

His kids are the Incredibles. I’m guessing that “realism” is not a high priority here.
