Once things define themselves he might though. Baseball like any sport will tolerate terrible people who can still get it done on the field. The Yankees got a great return for Arolidis Chapman after he served his suspension.

Jordan Romano called up to AAA today, he was dominant in AA.

Hopefully he does well. Man the Jays need some pitching prospects.
Not many people buying into Romano because he's 25 and old for AA, plus he was running with a .180 BABIP which is pretty much unsustainable.

The Jays should consider moving Happ.

The guy would definitely have value, and I'm sure teams are calling up now inquiring about him hoping to get him at a discount. The problem is the Jays would be selling low doing it now. So you just hold on for a year where his troubles are behind him and sell at a higher value. Baseball in particular has many dumb GM's who take on big contracts hoping to be the team that turns around a players' career. This is different - we know he's physically good, it's more his mental game off the field. He's shown he can handle on the field for the most part.

Grichuk was DHing in AA for the Fisher Cats today, so I imagine he will be back with the Jays soon.

Russ Martin supposedly starting in LF today against the Red Sox.
I wonder what they're doing? They must be trying him out as a utility guy or something so they can find a way to get Jansen up to the MLB level soon? Maybe they plan on keeping Maile around past this season as well, so if Martin can play OF, IF and C they can still keep Maile and Jansen around as C's? Would make sense I guess as being a full time C at 35 years old must really take it's toll on his body and knees and what not.
Hopefully his BABIP starts to come around, because as Parallex stated, he's still hitting the ball hard and walking.

Martin has said he is fine being a super utility guy to finish out his contract. He is still a good hitter despite his low average (which will bounce back). He can still draw walks and has long at bats. If this helps him stay fresh it may even improve his bat.

Counter-point: In that situation you're now publicly paying millions of dollars to a guy that beat the #### out of the mother of his child.

Devon Travis 4 for his last 9 with a 2B and HR.
Please let this be the start of his bat waking up, and also let him stay healthy.
Goddamn it'd be nice to see what this guy is capable of in a full, healthy season.

Jose Altuve leads the major leagues in hits with 73. Pretty good.
The minor leagues started a full week after big league games, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has 75 hits.
Most multi-hit games in MLB: Nick Markakis with 23. Vlad Jr. has 25.
Season line: .431/.480/.713. Incredible.

Thanks, but no. Why waste a year of service time and bring him one year closer to free agency on this abortion of a season?
That's just horrible asset management. Not to mention that rushing players usually backfires.

Vlad isn’t the norm but an exception. He’s ready for the big leagues and the sooner he adjusts to big league pitching the better he will be.

I doubt you'll ever be able to support the latter assertion. As to the former, doesn't change the fact that we're just wasting service time rushing him up.

7.5 back from wildcard, and that's going to be farther after today. Right now the Jays are duking it out with the Tigers in terms of positioning.
Does value peak at the trade deadline? It's time to start thinking about what the team can surround Vlad and Bo with for next year. No way we see either of them this year now.
Example : Taijan Walker is done for the season with TJ surgery, but would the Diamondbacks take a 'win now' trade for a good young pitcher?
I think that most people saw this sad sad season coming a mile away.
