Jose Bautista @JoeyBats19
.@simmonssteve who are you and why are you talking to me?

The sham is that there isn't mixed quads, men's doubles, and women's doubles as well. Curling has fewer medals available than any other discipline except hockey and skeleton (which is pretty much backwards luge). (I'm being facetious here, obviously there are scheduling reasons why this shouldn't happen.)

I don't like the power play in the doubles curling. Getting a corner guard once a game because Rules is like in Mario Cart when the people behind go faster.

I do like the 2 pre-placed stones and cutting down to 5 stones to force the game into precision freezes and light hits and speeds up the pace.

I felt the same way when I first heard about mixed curling. It seemed like a silly sport that was strange and confusing. It really grew on my though and I now find it to be a fun exciting twist on the sport much like 3 on 3 hockey, rugby 7s and T20 cricket.

I would like to see a proper Canadian and World Championships. I'd also like to see some other versions of the game such as mens and womens doubles and even 1 vs 1 curling.

Morris and Lawes are a brand new team the same way Iginla and Crosby were new teammates in 2010.

All I know is I really enjoyed watching it. Watching Koe vs. Italy was a bit slow by comparison and I thought I was a purist.

There are.

There has been a Canadian Championship since 2013 and a Worlds since 2008. Last year's Worlds was in Lethbridge. This year's Canadian Championships will be in Leduc in March.

I think Steve Simmonds needs to go to a local curling rink and actually try the sport. It's not as easy at it looks.

I'd like to see his double or triple take outs.

The Gold medal game was the first time I watched mixed doubles curling and I absolutely loved it. I curled in my youth and usually am a purist about sport, but the mixed doubles was a lot of fun to watch and the quicker pace is awesome. Simmons is probably like the people who made fun of me for curling, thinking it was not a real sport and was easy. That all changed after they had to try curling in gym class...

It doesn't look easy at all. It looks darn hard.

You missed a hell of a tournament. I'm fascinated to see where this goes with Canadian curling. It was always joining to become a foursome now it opens another avenue. Being a Curler myself it just adds more fun to the game.

My cat had a hotter take in her litter box this morning.

Seriously though, they have tried and removed several sports, if this totally random and unvetted website is to believed http://www.topendsports.com/events/w...orts/index.htm

If mixed doubles curling is a sham for that reason, then so is hockey.

Those two have trained their whole lives for that gold.
