Yeah it's almost sad how True Believers are inclined to break their wrists handwaving the risks associated with crypto.
I'm relatively entrenched and the amount of brainworms in the dedicated communities is something to behold.

He got played.
That's one of those Cameo things where D list celebrities read anything for a few hundred $.
People use it for birthday messages from celebrities etc.
He likely didn't even pre read it, just read off a script one take.
The one with Zack Kassian is particularly great if you haven't seen it.

Three natural gas-producing sites in southern Alberta could host "up to one million" bitcoin mining machines relocated from China under a deal proposed by Nevada-based Black Rock Petroleum Company amid Beijing's ongoing crackdown on cryptocurrency production and trading.
"In China, they were using hydroelectric power for at least part of the year, and then the rest of the year they would be using Chinese coal, instead," he said of the energy source powering the computers used in the mining process.
"But if they're coming to Alberta and start running on natural gas all year round, it's not improving the situation of this network, which is already responsible for more CO2 emissions than we are saving with all electric vehicles around the world combined."

I wonder if they factored in the increasing carbon tax...please tell me electricity producers pay a carbon tax...

This has been a fun few weeks as an ADA holder. It's tempting to cash some of it out now but I'm really curious what the long term value is going to look like in the next few years

Yeah I've got diamond hands HODL for Cardano. They've got a big upgrade coming with Alonzo in mid Sept. Could be a sell the news as well, but I'm stoked to see where it goes.
Plus I stake it and getting the 7.5% is nice.

I have been wondering what would happen if some quantum computing researchers decided to take a crack at crypto mining for fun.

Just for fun here is my current crypto profile no specific numbers attached. Feel free to post yours if you like. 🙂
ADA 80% (super bullish short and long term on this)
Pornrocket 12% (low cost acquisition with good potential)
Safemoon 8% (got in high and down 80% since ☹️)
I've dabbled in some other ones over the years but this is it right now. Crypto sure is a wild ride.....

I think if ADA breaks $5 after the Alonzo upgrade I'm going to sell a chunk to recoup all of my original investment, and if it dips again I'll rebuy

Solid plan, I'm considering the same thing. Then maybe buy back in again if it dips. lol, just read that you said that was part of the plan already.

One of the hardest thing to do in cryptocurrency is to sell during a bull-run. At $5, you may be tempted at the thought of $7 or $10...

It ain't gains until you sell.
Held crypto is just "potential".
