That part didn't hit me right away when I was wee. They always got back up before, so why not now? But when Prime turned gray? Oh lawdy we crying.

The Elephant Man grabs you by the feels. Especially the final few minutes.

I saw this in the theatre shortly after my best friend died, and I was a so glad to be in a dark room because I was choking the tears back with all I had.

Okay, fine. What happens next?

Well, Spock’s zipline breaks, so he’s stuck in the volcano, The Enterprise is underwater, so Kirk can’t ascend without the aliens seeing it, thus breaking the Prime Directiv —

WHAT.

The Enterprise is parked in the ocean.

Midnight Express

Quote:
Scripted by Oliver Stone, Midnight Express is the harrowing story of Billy Hayes, a young American tourist condemned to a Turkish prison for his futile attempt to smuggle hashish out of the country. Made an example of by a corrupt legal system and a victim of ineffectual diplomacy, Hayes is sentenced to 30 years and must overcome ruthless brutality and his own descent into madness in order to survive and, hopefully, escape. Nominated for six Academy Awards 1978, and winner of Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Original Score, Midnight Express is led by the powerful direction of Alan Parker, with searing performances from Brad Davis, John Hurt and Randy Quaid. It is an unforgettable look at one of the most dangerous prisons in the world, and one man's fight to get home.

I can't get through What Dreams May Come without bawling. I imagine it will be worse the next time since Robin Williams left us.

Another that really gets me is The Sweet Hereafter.
