Any love for Demetri’s on Kensington road? Their New York special is my fallback when I’m in the area.
Easily our most fave pizza shop. Love the Chicken Ala Mexicana. And yeah it's a great family run business. Greek family that goes back every year and I think there son is gonna take over.

A solid choice for greek style pizza, equal to if not better than Nicks IMHO.
Glad to hear the son is taking it over. Business should be up a lot given that Vinas closed and there's a serious lack of decent options between 16th Ave and the river (That excludes Pulcinellas and Pizza Bobs on purpose....)
Was in shawnessey and noticed that Paul's Pizza is moving in by the Safeway. Looks like they are moving from their downtown location. Been a while since I have had their pizza, but recall if being pretty solid.
I tried Atlas once and was underwhelmed, but everyone raves about them maybe I'll have to give it another try maybe they just had an off night.
I find pizza to be one of those foods where it has so much variation and everyone has a different preference
Atlas pizza is not a balanced pizza as it’s very topping and cheese heavy. That may or may not be your preference. So chances are, if you didn’t enjoy the pizza you had, you probably wouldnt like it the 2nd time
This seems like a good time to share this 6 part series that I totally didn't binge watch all of yesterday:
I love this channel. It's more entertainment than education and the personalities work so well together. In this series the test kitchen chefs go about making the perfect pizza dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings with an episode dedicated to each element.

I usually like a cheese and topping heavy pizza (I like Nick's and Spiro's), I think maybe it was the sauce and crust that I didn't like.

We recently moved to the westside and have yet to find anything suitable, so we end up heading east to either Spiros or Volos, two leftover favourites from when we lived in civilization, er, Marda Loop...
I don't mind, but the 15 minute drive has an affect on the crispness of the crust - any recommendations from my fellow country-dwellers?

Try Sophie's on Richmond Road and about 45th street. Was my go-to when I lived out that way.

POW Pizza - Detroit style pizza (thicker crust, pan baked. Not Chicago thick) that has some of the best cheesy edges I've had. I find the simple ones here are best again (Wagyu pepperoni).
Tried this place last week, best pizza I've had in a long time.

A Pizza Plus at 45th and Bow Trail used to be amazing. I haven't lived in that part of town for a few years so I haven't had it lately but it was the go-to spot for me for many years.
