In the clip, two pilots are heard shouting in disbelief after capturing the object on their ATFLIR Pod. According to To The Stars Academy of Art and Science, it "contains the most advanced sensors and powerful tracking systems on the market".
Another interesting finding concerned what some call the “space gene”, which was alluded to in 2017. Researchers now know that 93% of Scott’s genes returned to normal after landing. However, the remaining 7% point to possible longer term changes in genes related to his immune system, DNA repair, bone formation networks, hypoxia, and hypercapnia.
Astronomers discovered asteroid 2010 WC9 on Nov. 30, 2010. However, it soon faded from view and was lost. But now it's back, and it's going to whiz past Earth between Monday and Tuesday.
Astronomers estimate the asteroid to be 71 metres in diameter (though it could be larger). It will pass about half the distance between Earth and the moon — about 200,000 kilometres — travelling around 12.8 kilometres a second.
I'd like to remind you all that this asteroid is clearly following the universal law of the Galaxy, ABC always be closing

Swift Gene-Editing Method May Revolutionize Treatments for Cancer and Infectious Diseases https://nyti.ms/2NFU79b
My fav comment: The main drawback might be that patients with modified genes could no longer shop at Whole Foods.

China has already been allowing dozens of human tests of gene editing for treatment of cancers. A breakthrough like this may find application in China before it does in the states for regulatory reasons.

Exciting news! (and something to distract you from the political madness these days)
A lake on Mars? New data suggests liquid water lies beneath planet's southern pole
Quote:
About 1.5 kilometres beneath the planet's southern pole, in a region called Planum Australe, there is a "well-defined" lake or a possible aquifer covering 20 square kilometres, which the team suggests is salty, liquid water.
"Progressively, we were narrowing the possibilities," said paper co-author Elena Pettinelli, an associate professor in the department of math and physics at the Universita degli Studi Roma Tre in Rome.
"In some ways, we didn't want to think it was water … but really there's no other explanation."
Still, the astronomical community is cautiously optimistic.
The latest one (the first one I'm listening to) features a lady who's education is in astrophysics, but she became a professional poker player, and they talk about how people perceive probability and stuff, super interesting.
She also wrote an article on Vox talking about a paper that came out recently about the Fermi Paradox that concludes that we are probably alone.
Using fresh statistical methods, the paper re-asks the question “Are we alone?” and draws some groundbreaking conclusions: We Earthlings are not only likely to be the sole intelligence in the Milky Way, but there is about a 50 percent chance we are alone in the entire observable universe.
Looks like they James Webb Space telescope was delayed again. It was supposed to launch in October. but we will have to wait until 2021.
For those who don't know it will be the largest telescope sent into space.
The JWST is developed in collaboration between NASA, the European Space Agency, and the Canadian Space Agency that will be the scientific successor to the Hubble Space Telescope.
So some worms frozen in Edmonton for up to 42,000 years came back to life in the lab. This is pretty crazy. Wonder if other frozen species can do the same if they find them?

This is getting ridiculous, starting to smell like Northrop needs to keep this project going as long as possible to keep people working. Other than the Webb I think their only other work is the new stealth bomber?

Wait until they hear about how good the Oilers were in the 1980s!!

The James Webb Space Telescope is the most ambitious and complex astronomical project ever built. The difficulty of this project is that they cannot repair the the telescope once it is in space because it will be too far away.
The cost is outrageous but the results will be profound.

SpaceX just landed one of their new Block 5 boosters for the second time, it first flew on May 11th and they are going to try to launch it one more time this year making it the first rocket to ever be launched 3 times.

Yes, if all goes well this will probably be a game changer for science, I have a relative that worked on part the guidance system for 3 years, his job was done 3 or 4 years ago. the constant delays are frustrating, after all this time they should build two just in case the first doesn't open up and work!
This museum held the oldest human skeleton found in the Americas, along with one of the biggest collections of Egyptian artefacts in the world. This is an indescribable loss.

This is just devatstating, what a historical loss.
