If they made a GTA Vancover obviously the riot mission (and setting) would make a reappearance.

Was just reading the rumours about this game (which I've been checking daily since the trailer hit, man this game's got me hooked right now), and I read "One mission involves breaking out a very familiar GTA icon from a previous game". If that's true, I bet thats the jetpack. Which would be the tits.

that sounds more like breaking a character out of jail, and given that you're back in San Andreas it's likely CJ

It could be Mike Toreno
Having James Woods back in would be awesome.

Ahh you're probably right, guess I misinterpreted the "breaking out" thing. Maybe that's what we see when that guy from the commercial who resembles CJ is running from the cops/helicopter.

So here's another serving of hot, steamy rumours, which contrast from the other ones posted in this thread. Apparently they were posted on the Rockstar GTA forums & were quickly deleted by Administrators. From GameRanx, which claimed they got lots of leaked info from a Q&A tester. Obviously take it with a grain of salt, but I find these fun to read, helps the mind imagine what could be. PS its long, but lots of good info here:
Rumor: A Ton of Grand Theft Auto V Details Leaked « StickSkills.com
There's lots there, so if you don't feel like reading it all, some of the more interesting notes include:
- L.S. only major city in the game, but is still 50% larger than Liberty City, and is over-all 1/3rd the size of the game. Lots of smaller towns, including San Bernardino & Tucson.
- 5 counties over-all, representing real counties:
-L.S. County- real life L.A. County;, this is most of L.A. obviously
-Valais County- Orange County; beaches, Malibu, etc..
-Santa Hueso County- San Diego County; very SoCal, to Mex border. Could the city of a whale's vagina itself be included?
-Brigham County- San Bernardino County; mountains, Mohave Desert, Joshua Tree! Will probably resemble some western RDR areas.
-Santa Catarina County- Ventura/Santa Barbara County; lots of beaches, rugged landscape.
-Trecena Court- Riverside/Imperial County; S.E. Cal, going into Arizona. Vast desert/dunes. Poorer economic area. Tuscon probably here.
-one last note on environment, seasons change during the game (spans over several months). Game climates will range from desert to snow. Map is HUGE.
-cars customizable, as well as weapons.
-protagonist is Ray, 53yrs old divorcee with 2 kids, moved from Liberty City.
-1 last humorous note, instead of pigeons, 100 Sasquatches placed around San Andreas to find (& kill I'm sure). Will be recognizable by faint glowing & constant cooing (???)

Bumping this thread because R* released 3 new screenshots for GTA V today. They've released 9 in total now, most have been pretty underwhelming, and frankly frustrating that its all we get instead of a 2nd trailer. But the ones they released today were pretty impressive actually. The return of Mount Chiliad?

Ya it originally was supposed to be today, which is the anniversary of the 1st trailer. But that crazy b**** Sandy put a wrench in those plans, knocked the power out in their office.
Still can't believe its been a whole year with zero new info (I don't count screenshots as "info"), but at least we finally have a) a release date(ish), and b) a 2nd trailer coming.

A couple things I've read today. The Game is doing B-Dups voice again, the character from San Andreas.
Also today at 5 pm Game Informer is releasing an 18 page reveal for the game including screen shots and info. It will reveal the protagonist of the game, who is going to be an east coast gangster who moves to Los Santos looking for a new start but inevitably ends up back in the life of crime

I also Wal-Mart has some pre-order cards available already too. Holy crap, I'm excited.
Halo 4 and GTA V together in the first 6 months.

Dear lord. The best part of GTA: Vice City was the heist missions. If they focus more on this then GTAV quickly becomes my most anticipated game in years.
From IGN ( http://ca.ign.com/articles/2012/11/0...ils-revealed):
Quote:
Players will experience missions as different combinations of the three characters, and each will have a different skillset. For example, in one heist mission, Michael rappels down the side of a building while Franklin uses a sniper rifle from afar and Trevor flies in a helicopter above. Players can switch back and forth between Michael grabbing a target inside the building or Franklin trying to snipe enemies inside. Once you escape, the player can choose to fly the getaway helicopter as Trevor, snipe other pilots as Franklin or fire a gun from the back of the vehicle as Michael.

Los Santos will be the biggest open world in Rockstar's history, "bigger than Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto IV and San Andreas combined."

Wow.

I was very disappointed with 4. It didn't have the fun that the previous 3 had on the PS2. Walking around the city was like walking around a movie set. All these places that looked cool enough, but you couldn't interact with. I'd really like to see a lot more indoor environments.
And the side quests for the game are getting silly. I don't want to have to hang out with friends to keep meters up. This isn't The Sims.

Interested to see how playing as 3 different characters throughout the game works out.
I'm excited about the environment, after hearing how large it's supposed to be. I'm hoping they in-still the level of detail that they did in GTA IV though, otherwise you'll get a "quantity over quality" type of world to run around in. San Andreas was expansive, but didn't have nearly the attention to detail that GTA IV did. If they're able to work that same magic on an area this large...wow, I can't wait.
