If Toffoli is available and the cost is minimal, you do it. Get Backlund off the first line and get him back in the middle on the third already. Backlund on the first line us unbearable to watch.

Toffoli would a fine addition. He's also good buddies with Monahan, no?

I'd like to think the Flames could also add another forward to go along with him as well.

Toffoli will be a good fit on the squad. Age wise he is in his prime as well. Would be interesting to see when Treliving pulls the trigger on a deal, if he does.

I do not think Taffoli will not be "cheap" to acquire. He is still young as far as UFA rentals go. Also being a RH shot who is still scoring at a 20 plus goal pace will make him an item in short supply. If thats what is out there sure see what the price is. But I don't know if he would be the piece that pushes them over the top.

I'd love to see Treliving pick up Toffoli and sign him right away based on his recent production. Then tear it up with Johnny and Monahan

I honestly don’t know what type of player Toffolli is. I haven’t seen him play very much but for some reason I have a feeling that he will be Neal all over again. if we go after him, hopefully he doesn’t come here thinking that his spot on the top line is going to be handed to him like Neal did. Neal was very lazy and wasn’t willing to work hard and retrieve pucks.

I think we need to target a player who has top 6 skill, but can also skate like the wind. I would love a player to play with Johnny and Monny who is good at carrying the puck with speed so we have another option besides Johnny to gain the zone

A 2nd and a B level prospect is the rumoured ask. So depends on if you think that's a hefty cost or not.

Might take a little sweetener being within the division.

What’s a B level prospect for Calgary? Gawdin? Phillips? Emilio?

This has got to be the season that the Flames shake up their team for the better driving down the stretch.

Bennett and Jankowski are prime fodder but don't carry much in terms of value. I have no idea how Treliving moves the needle with his tradable assets. Toffoli is better than either of them... but is he a difference maker?

It's too bad we kept the wrong guy in Jankowski. Lazar is flourishing in Buffalo. I really wished we gave the guy a legitimate chance. Decent size, great skater, can kill penalties too. Just my opinion.

4 goals and 3 assists is flourishing? Marginally better this season I suppose. But those aren't difference maker numbers.

Jankowski's put up 17 goals before as well as 32 points. Lazar's career high is 6 goals and 20 points.

Not sure I see where we made a huge mistake, exactly.

Lazar got a legitimate chance here and he was simply not a fit. I love him as a person but he was a poor Flame. He was not a good handler of the puck.

And I'm honestly sceptical of his success in Buffalo. The Sabres are only generating 37.9% of the shots and shot attempts when he's on the ice, by far and away the worst mark on the team. Lazar has scored 4 goals on 12 shots and I don't think it's unreasonable to say Jankowski is more than capable of going on a similar run.

I'm heavy on the Kapanen train, he should definitely be our target.

I'd go Phillips + for Toffoli. As long as the 1st isn't involved, I'd give up a 2nd in the deal as well.

Hamonic for Kapanen isn't something that can happen, is it?

You must be thinking Tyler Pitlick not Tyler Toffoli.

It would be nice to see Philip's at this level for ourselves before throwing him in as sweetener to a deal.

I think Taffoli buries some of those point blank chances that Gaudreau is feeding Backlund only to have him miss constantly
