Got out last night for 9 holes at Lynx Ridge. Opening day. Obviously it's early April so you can't judge the conditions, but it felt really great to be out golfing again!

Distances were a bit tough to judge first time out, made a few doubles. Shot 46.

Was playing Indian Canyon South today in Palm Springs and hold out from 146 yards. No hop or anything, just straight in. I didn't destroy the hole though. I also saw a roadrunner run by with a gecko hanging from its mouth and then mount his lady friend. Gecko still hanging from its mouth.

Played another 9 this afternoon. First birdie of the year on the par 5 6th. Put my 5-iron to about 10 feet from 215 yards! One of the best shots I've ever hit, probably!

Stuck an 8-iron to about 8 feet two holes later from 176. Good run of golf for a few holes there. Still wildly inconsistent, though. Shot 43 after putting a couple in the water on the 9th.

Played 18 holes this afternoon. Shot a 43 on the front 9 and was headed to a score in the 80's when I blew up on the last 4 holes. Was a bit chilly for walking but the exercise is always good. Ended up playing the round in 3 hours and 15 minutes

Hamptons Golf course is trying to sell off 2 of their holes so more homes can be developed.
Quote:
QuantumPlace Developments is handling the rezoning application for the golf club. Its managing principal, Chris Ollenberger, said the opposition from the community is not a surprise.

"It's totally recognizable that lots of people don't really want change, don't want their view to change. They might not want new neighbours, things like that. So we have to do a good job how we work for the planning rationale, how we hear their interests and concerns," said Ollenberger.

The golf club plans to take the proceeds from selling some of its land to re-invest in the golf course. Ollenberger said that reinvestment will include upgrades to the clubhouse at the course.

How is selling off 2 of their holes going to upgrade the course?

Hamptons has one of the best club houses in Calgary already. The club house is the last thing Hamptons needs updating.

They're just Ken Kinging a sell job to area residents so they can accomplish what they want. Tell them the clubhouse they frequently visit is where the money will go and that's something tangible to calm people down and maybe even get them a little excited.

A Calgary golfer is still on Cloud 9 after hitting two holes-in-one at an Arizona golf tournament.

"It's amazing," Barb Parker told The Homestretch on Wednesday. "I am still not over it. Every time I tell somebody the story, I just kind of shake my head and think, 'I just can't believe it happened.'"

Over 20+ years of golf and lots of close calls, these stories always seem to make my golf game feel inadequate. Just one golf gods, I won't ask for much more.

I consider it a success if I hit the green with my tee shot on a par 3. I've never come remotely close to an ace.

I had two aces in about three weeks last summer. It was a magical time.

I have a buddy that is a professional golfer and he doesn't have a hole in one. Thousands of rds, would be very frustrating. Did shoot a 59,so that helps.
