Army has learned his lesson; smart "prove it' deal

oh yeah, Stanley Cup champ, Calder and Conn Smythe runner-up will make less than Koskinen

Great deal for both imo. This kid has a bright future ahead of him.

Tkachuk isn't remotely comparable, but yes.

The Ryan Lomberg camp is probably feeling pretty good...

... has nothing to do with Jordan Binnington; I’m just thinking they had a nice Saturday.

Thumbs down

I find it kinda crummy how St.Louis treated this guy.

In January the Blues were 31/31 teams. Binnington was called up and from that point forward they won the Stanley Cup. If there is anyone in the NHL that should be paid for past performances it’s this guy, and the Blues kinda shaft him.

I don’t know how you can’t rationalize paying this guy who gifted you your first championship in +40 years at least $6MM but okay. Brutal.

This is an awful deal for Binnington. Awful.

He is being discounted heavily here, because he has to take it.

Really? Brutal? if he keeps up his play next couple years he will be a UFA and make more than that.

Teams win championships.

$4.4M for a rookie goalie coming off his first season is just fine.

I dunno. I think if you had a goalie you knew would win you a championship you’d pay a duck load for, and this guy just delivered. Seems a bit light to me by like 25% at least. I love the logic of “prove it” contract. Uh, I just did? Your first win in franchise history? You’re welcome?

Without Binnington the Blues don’t qualify for the playoffs let alone win the cup. Pay the man.

He went from a nobody to cup champ with an $8.8mil contract in 6 months....

I consider that a significant payment.

This contract got done early in the off season which suggests he feels he did get paid
