Hearing the Micheal Ferland deal in Vancouver could be 4 years.

Will suck to see him in a Canucks jersey. Probably decent value contract though, since it took him this long to sign.

Time to snap up Dzingel (after offloading one of our rumoured guys).
Paging Brad with an ol' Connor "let's go". Come on my wizard man.

Wish it wasn't for the Canucks, but in a way, I feel a bit relieved that the Flames dodged a potential bullet by not overpaying for a high risk Ferland. Still a fan of his, but he's dead to me while he plays for the dirty Nuckleheads.

GOAT!

I’m not gonna like him going after Johnny. Another reason to have Chucky up on the opposite wing!

Hoping for a big overpay so Ferland and Flames fans can be big winners in this deal.

I just went on capfriendly to figure out how the hell this could possibly work. With a 21 man roster missing Boeser and Ferland, that leaves $10,358,462 in cap space. You have to think Boeser is going to take up at least 7. So you have 3.3M left for Ferland, if you want to be right up against the cap? Would Ferland sign for that price? Even if he would, the above lineup features like 10 left hand shots. Why would they sign another one?
Benning is pretty dumb.

The absolute lack of anything regarding the main roster is perplexing right now. Fully aware there's a lot of things preventing most moves but hot damn this offseason league wide is moving at a snail's pace.

Very risky for an injury prone player.

He's in a tough spot. No cap room at all. Would have been a different story if he could have pushed that Kadri trade through.

I wouldn't over-analyze what Benning is doing. There doesn't appear to be much of a plan from season to season with this team. If there is in fact a plan it appears they are trying to become the next Minnesota Wild. Low ceiling, low floor perennially mediocre organization.

Guessing 4 x $3.75M
Mixed feelings - would have liked to sign him cheap, but knowing that wasn't happening, not sure how I would have felt with bigger numbers. Signing with the Nucks though (or Edmonton), is worst case scenario.

It's only July 9th. Everything will get done and it's just a matter of being patient.

If it's under 4 mil it's a good move that I wish the Flames would have matched.
If it's over 4 mil then lol suck it canucks

This. For Ferland's sake, I hope he cashes in. But four years for a guy who's bread and butter has to be the physical game, but who also has concussion history is an extremely high risk contract for Vancouver.
They really didn't learn from the Beagle and Roussel signings. Though Ferland is better than both.

I didn't really want him back, but I want him on the Canucks even less. This was the rumour going all the way back to the end of the season.
I just hope they overpay, but given the market right now, I expect that it will be a reasonable AAV.
