1st Period

Shots 18-8 in favour of The Mavericks

Parsons beat going down a little too early and is decked behind his right foot for the first goal.

2nd Period

2nd Goal Five Hole
Parsons being lulled to sleep with only 2 shots that period.

3rd Period

3rd Goal beat Parsons on the Glove side
3 goals on 14 shots

4th Goal. Scrambling play that led to a one timer on Parsons blocker side when he was already covering his glove side down in the splits

Mavericks lose 4-1 despite the fact their shots were 41-26

Mavericks sold out last night. Brought in a few school choirs to sing God Bless America and the National Anthem so I am assuming that's where a lot of the sales came from

Another early game for the Mavs

Tough game for Parsons. Pulled after the second allowing 6 goals on 22 shots

McDonald comes in for the 3rd and allows a short handed goal. 1 goal on 6 shots

Mavs probably should have won this game. Blew two 3 goal leads. 3-0 and 5-2.

Mason McDonald got the start for the mavs tonight and played a great game stopping 37 of 40 shots and 6 of 7 shots in the shootout win. Mavs win 4-3

Period 1

Parsons lets 2 through. One off a deflection, the other on a deke through the side of his right leg on a short-handed breakaway.

Kayle Doetzel comes through to put the Mavericks on the board in the first.

Period 2

Puck slid past Parsons on a power play goal off a loose puck.

Patch Alber was getting some good looks but Atlanta's goalie was on fire. The defensemen seem to have the best chances in this game so far.

Shots were 25-19 in favour of the Gladiators after 2

Period 3

Top shelf shot gets past Parsons for goal number 4.

Rocco Carzo gets his 3rd goal of the year to put the Mavericks within 2.

Mavericks fall 4-2 in Atlanta
Shots were 36-34 for the Mavs

Came here to see what's going on with Parsons after reading the Flames' future watch update and finding out that he has a 4.69 GAA and. 870 save percentage so far in 6 games.

From the thread, it sounds like he's being hung out to dry? For those who watch the games, is this really the case? How has his play been?

Suspect he's adjusting to the pro game. Still early, but yes not a great start no matter how hung out to dry he's been.

Needs to get out of the ECHL, needs to be surrounded by better coaching and better players. The ECHL is not the best place to develop prospects

Agreed. Don't think you want one there for too long but a season and a bit for a 20/21 year old, totally fine.

Mavericks game is delayed at least 30 mins due to their opponents bus breaking down. The Wichita Thunder play the Mavericks tonight and tomorrow night.

Mason McDonald will get the start between the pipes for the first match up.

Dan Correale is out for the weekend with an upper body injury.

1st Period

Silverstein Arena looking at about half capacity tonight.

McDonald got the start.

Lots of time spent on the attack for the Mavericks right off the draw. Lot of quality shots but defence and goaltending make the difference.

McDonald lets the 2nd shot in off a broken wrap around play.

Mavericks able to answer back in the final minutes of the 1st and Hunter Smith picks up an assist off of Robertson’s goal.

Shots were 14-3

2nd Period

Most of the team was buzzing and showing their emotions from last night.

Hunter Smith was looking slow and noticeably not as aggressive as the rest of the team.

Thunder gets 2 this period and Mavs answer back again in the last few minutes with another tally for Matt Robertson

Shots 18-13 in favour of the Mavericks

3rd Period

Robertson was anxious for hit hat trick goal almost found it and set up a juicy rebound that went in just after the post came off.

Aggressive play carried on throughout. A lot of dirty shots were missed by the refs including a stick to Greg Betzold’s teeth halfway through the period.

Training staff will be busy after this one and hopefully the players are able to recover well.

4-2 final with a empty netter in the final seconds.

Overall a good game with a lot of energy and aggression. Much better matchup against Wichita tonight after last nights 6-2 loss.

If you're feeling bad about that tough Flames loss to the Red Wings I'm here for some good news.

Mavericks pick up an overtime win against the Wichita Thunder tonight. This was the first win against them in the 4 match-ups they've had this season.

Darren Nowick gets the game winning goal 19 seconds into overtime and Mike McMurtry opened up the scoring for the Mavericks in the first period.

Tyler Parsons was back in net for the Mavericks this game.

Shots were 39-24 in favour of Wichita at the end of regulation

I don't care what league it is, if those two are going to see a lot of shots and stop almost all of them that's great.
