Was waiting for the misplaced sanctimoniousness. Almost every player that returns gets a booing its almost patronizing to suggest he shouldn't recieve some legit fan jeering. Dont worry no one is advocating slurring his character or throwing a petrol bomb through his house.

Kylington was probably on Calgarypuck a lot

Many people were overrating him here

It’s quite obvious now

Best of luck, I guess. Hardly knew him as a player lately even though he was in the organization for a long time. I don't buy Calgary being a better opportunity, flames have no quality D depth and a fresh start may unlock something for Kyllington.

So yeah, not a great gamble on his part. Not to mention he would likely get way more opportunity with the Flames.

Kylington wanted to explore other opportunities.

Conroy wanted to key in on certain available players.

Business.

Flames lost interest in signing him once the four year request was made.

He wasn’t getting that here. His agent and him both should have known that. Everything Conroy said he did. No long term contracts.

Kylington if anything is a very smooth and fast skater, really graceful to watch with some decent hockey iq. Very versatile player up and down the lines.

I didn't mind him, but I don't really know that I'd call him versatile.

Kylington was never as good as he showed with Tanev, and probably isn't as bad as he showed last year, coming back from being off as long as he was. He has a chance in Colorado to play every day; all he has to do is beat out guys like MacDonald and Malinski and Brannstrom and de Haan, and if Girard is indeed on the block, more ice-time opens up.

Put up or shut up season.

Yeah, there is a lot that I like about the player and wish he would have stayed. But not at the risk of a multi year contract that he might not even fulfill given his history.

One knock on him though is that as good of a skater he is, he also seems to get knocked off balance pretty easily. There are many times that you can tell he is trying hard but still loses puck battles. Which is surprising for a guy who is obviously quite strong.

You asked why he may have had hurt feelings.

Why do you think he did?

I just don’t think it’s realistic on his part or his agent to think he was getting a 4 year deal here.

It’s a shame if he gets hurt feelings from that.

You didn’t answer my question.

Maybe he didn’t think he was getting that but was hoping for something better than what Flames had offered. Maybe he didn’t like what the Flames had to say to him about his request.

Since we don’t know exactly why his feelings may have been hurt, why criticize him for it?

I will wish him well and have nothing bad to say about him or even how this transpired. Hope he crushes it in Denver and earns a long-term bigger money deal.

I wonder if he fires his agent soon?

I really enjoyed how he played the game here. Maybe not versatile but he was very smooth. If we go back to his best season, we see some point production for the pay rate.

I’m just going off what is being said that he got a 1 year offer at his current 2.5 AAV.

If the 4 year offer from Washington is true the market certainly didn’t feel that way based on the contract he just signed.

It just sucks if they have hurt feelings as everything the Flames did for him was first class, and he handled the situation well also.

Don’t think either side did anything wrong here.
