Just finished season 1 of Foundation. The finale was outstanding and rewarded my patience in the slow developing story. The genetic dynasty of the Empire is one of those great ideas that good Sci-Fi can deliver. Brother Day is a great performance. I will definitely watch season two. I believe the series departs greatly from the novels?

Yeah, it's not really worth thinking about in the context of the novels. The genetic dynasty was created for the tv series as a solution to the problem of having a story that is told over the sort of scale that is beyond the lifetimes of any character. The series invents different devices to keep characters around from one season to the next. One way of thinking about the novel is that it's about how ideas persist (and are in fact inevitable) in predictable ways regardless of the individuals, which essentially makes it unfilmable as-is. Critics will say that the series turns this message on its head. I don't think you can really argue with that, and instead just watch the show as something that tells a good story on an epic scale.
And for what its worth, I think most fans of the show share your opinion that the genetic dynasty is the best part of the show (and by a wide margin in season 1), but in the second season other elements of the show hold their own better as well.

I love the show, I love the premise, but there's two things that bother me.
1. The uncontrollable rage some of the main leads seem to have - it's distracting
2. Taylor Sheridan's TRT infused 54 year old body.
Yeah. I'm with you on point 1.
No reason for Saldana's character to go so over the top in a couple of those meetings. It was bizarre, and completely unnecessary. Written as if it requires an out of control female to assert her authority.
But yeah. Great show.

The huge plot holes clearly part of the fictional story written from the photographs. Cate Blanchett character story coming out now, which I assume is the true story.

Somebody may have said this already (only read last couple of pages of this topic) but From is an excellent horror series. I have paramount plus so I get it there. Creepy as hell, keeps you guessing. Really well done.
And I second Lioness being good. Besides Yellowstone a new Sheridan show called Landman comes out soon. About west Texas oil boom?

It's such a great show. I just recently watched the entire 3 seasons while I was recovering from surgery, and highly enjoyed it.Now I have to wait until who knows when for Season 4.
