Cheap "Disposable" Cell Phone

No, I'm not a terrorist.

Anyways, trying to find out if anybody has seen any super cheap deals on pay as you go phones. I am going to be going to the hospital, and they say don't bring anything valuable, but they also won't give me an exact time I'm going to be done, and I have to have somebody pick me up. So I need to be able to make and receive a call or two. Plus there's been a few times where it would be handy to have a cell phone that I don't care if it gets wrecked, like going rafting or something.

I was sure I had seen phones for around $20 that included air time. I checked all the main websites and came up empty; the only one was Staples had a $5 phone with $50 of air time, but somehow they are all sold out.

That makes two of us. Im stuck in the middle of a 3 year plan with Telus. Got the LG Chocolate, it was junk, so after four months I exchanged it for a Motorola KRZR. Worked great for awhile, but the screen decided to crap out for good, one WEEK after my warranty expired. Now I've had it, I wanna get the cheapest phone I can find to ride out the rest of this contract, and then I'm outski!

a m300 from samsung is 60 bucks if you buy it at Best Buy or at your provider as a pay as you go phone.

As for the actual point of this thread... What a great idea! I'll probably go rafting this sunday and I'm reluctant to bring my BB but I'm also reluctant not to bring a phone. I think I'll stick my sim card in one of my old phones. I never ever thought of that. You're a genius ken! Camping, fishing, rafting, skiing will never be stressful ever again.
