Blizzard Entertainment Set To Announce New Game

The developer's home page is currently gated by a teaser image depicting what appears to be shattered ice bearing a runelike marking--and not much else. Upon clicking the image, the user is then redirected to Blizzard's standard home Web site.

The developer, though, was quick to dismiss the acquisition as standard operating procedure to "safeguard its intellectual properties."

Looks like a game will be announced at Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational this weekend.
I am hoping for Diablo 3... it has been WAY too long.

I believe it is in Alpha. Some rumours that the release date MAY be December 3rd, 2008.

I remember hearing about 6 months ago that blizzard bought the domain for 'diablo3.com.'
I think its likely that it's D3
I have noticed three circles about 2 inches to the left of the centre of the picture. Does that mean anything to anyone?

It's been a while, but the whole thing may be referencing the Worldstone that was corrupted by Baal. The wiki states that the Worldstone was a crystal like structure, energy, pulsing, etc.

Bring on D3. I have to say that I always hoped that if/when D3 was made, it would be updated from the 3/4 view to 3D (i.e. first person perspective) or at least have that as an option. Video cards should be able to handle that now. It would add a very cool aspect to the gameplay.

The only way D3 does anything other than suck is if they change the game a lot. I am not gonna shell out for D3 when I can play WoW or AoC.
