Default What to do with old computer junk

You know when you buy a new computer and you get all sorts of garbage, or what seems to be garbage, or soon becomes obsolete/garbage... I've probably got 4 or 5 "new computer's worth" of this stuff.

Short telephone wires, cd drivers, odd cables, freebie cds and games and useless programs and all sorts of crinkumcrankum that nobody wants or needs.

What do you do with it? Throw it in the garbage? Can you recycle cds somewhere? The guy who picks up my recycling won't take this kind of stuff and though it is all electronics-related, it's not really "electronics" and you can't take it to the electronics recycler, far as I know.

Also, VCR and music "tapes". In the garbage?

there are a bunch of electronic recycling depots in the city that you can take most of that to.

There is a recycling drop-off near the Farmer's Market at Currie Barracks. Just west of the market and wine shop.
