Blackberry Thunder 9500!
All this talk about the iPhone is starting to drive me nuts, and look what we have here? I was wondering why Blackberry's stock rose up so much yesterday and it was perhaps due to this leak:
Looks fantastic. Now I really have something to look forward to.

Yeah actually I was reading they may have a haptic feedback for the screen typing, where the screen feel actually changes locally where you press it to help with typing, and the whole screen is a kind of button too.. so that typing on the screen feels a bit better than just poking at a piece of glass.
Looking forward to what they can do, the keyboard is the whole thing with RIM so you know they'll be doing something to get it right.

It's good that RIM has competition now (Ala, Apple). They were starting to slow down a bit, but this phone looks damn sexy.
It's no mistake that the screen shots are of apps used to listen to music and take pictures, RIM has realized smartphones are for more than just the business type...Huge mistake on their part for the last while.

I don't think large businesses make these types of "mistakes" (except Rogers, but they made up with their miraculous "timing"). I read at least 2 years back a casestudy on RIM and how they had all the data to indicate the consumer market of "smartphones" was going to explode. I don't think they missed any boats at all with the consumer market. The Pearl was the first and was a huge success, and most recently, the Curve was introduced and it seems like every 2nd BB user has one. They're not stupid and realize their bread and butter with their image is a business machine, but also realize there is a larger market with the consumer devices. In fact, I found screens of their entry level phones out on the net which are actually flip phones, but they're probably banking on getting 15 year olds on the BB bandwagon. Smart business move, even though the things are ugly as hell. Back to the topic at hand, who knows when this thing will come out, but I'll be the first in line.

Might be a ways away yet.

Our source goes on to tell us that the keyboard is incredibly annoying to type on, and the screen actually shows ripples even when pressed ever-so-lightly. There is an accelerometer in here, but it goes “bonkers” when the device is moved. In its current state, the UI blinks and lags when you try to scroll, and for every key press, you have to wait half a second until you get a response.

Honestly for buisness I dont know why anyone would need any more than an 8330. I just got one and its fantastic.
Does anyone know what you have to do so that you dont accept private numbers? Is there a cost involved?

Rumour has it that Telus won't be far behind Verizon in bringing this one to Canada either... Think a couple months at most.

Don't answer the call. There is no block the blocker feature for cell phones.

Looks cool. Like another poster mentioned I love my 8330. The bigger screen would be nice for viewing video's and pictures. Not to mention playing games and viewing the internet. Wonder how typing on a touch screen is going to work? Typing is a must with smart phones as I'm sure everyone knows.

It is nice that this phone can work on both gsm and cdma networks. Look forward to the finished product.

We just moved our entire office from Treo 700W's to 8330's, and I love them. They honestly just work as advertised....something the Palm never did.
Our Telus rep says the 9500 will be available in Canada by Christmas, but I think he makes it up as he goes.

^Man that guy's everywhere.
Looks like a cool phone. The comments about the protoype is what I have heard about the Instincts released phone. Let's hope RIM realizes there's more to it than a touchscreen.

From probably the same article, full qwerty when in landscpe, suretype when in the usual position, and can switch at anytime without issue (even mid sentence.
Provides feedback to your fingers and makes clicks to make it "feel" like you're typing on raised keys like an 8830.

Personally, I feel really stupid for wasting two years of my life on a Palm Treo.
