I'm doing a Calgary-Vancouver-Hong Kong-Beijing-Sydney-Hong Kong-Van-Calgary next month for $4000, all business class. it's an awesome airline for that kind of money.

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion!
It's just that Cathay Pacific has a 2:00 am flight out of Vancouver which works out perfectly for my connectors.

cmyden, any chance you can scope out a cheap return flight to Phoenix? Only problem is dates are pretty firm...December 3 departure from YYC, December 7 return to YYC.

Unfortunately firm dates & cheap flights rarely go hand in hand.
Best deal I can see right now is $357 USD on on US Airways, non stop.

Saw this come across my email this morning if you want to fly out very soon:
Depart this weekend from Calgary for $99 roundtrip to:
- London Oct. 3, return Oct. 9 ... $99 ($562 w/tax)
- Manchester Oct. 2 , return Oct. 9 or Oct. 4, return Oct. 11 ... $99 ($627 w/tax)
Looks like it's being offered by AirTransat/Thomas Cook

I actually just took advantage of the Thomas Cook/Air Transat deal for London. I did 2 nights in London then booked a flight to Rome and spent 3 days there. It was one hectic week, but it was a really good trip. We had considered Munich for Oktoberfest, but my wife always wanted to see Rome. We used Priceline for the hotel rooms and were very pleased with wwhat we got. $170/per night(plus taxes and fees) for 5-star hotels in London. Ended up being the Hilton and Marriott on Park Lane next to Hyde Park.

Price drops on a few Air Transat flights to London Gatwick, non-stop.
Calgary to London Gatwick - $588 USD
Oct 16 - 25 | $588 USD
Nov 17 - 24 | $598 USD
Nov 24 - Dec 1 | $598 USD
Also, there is a flight from Dec 23 - 30 for $782 USD. Not exactly cheap, but certainly cheaper than all other flights to Europe over Christmas, which are at $1000+.

So I am thinking of going to Vegas for my birthday in November. The flight will be with points but where is a good place to go and find smoking deals on resorts?

Vegas.com is pretty good for everything Vegas-related. You can get sweet deals on nightclubs, shows, etc there as well.

Calgary to Mayan Riviera - $740 CDN, all inclusive + $200 WestJet credit?
Details:
- 7 days all-inclusive (departs Nov 2, 2009)
- 4.5 star accommodation
- includes flight, hotel, and all taxes.
$660 + $80 taxes = $740 ALL IN!
**PLUS - right now they have the extra westjet travel credit, so when you book, you get another $200 future west jet credit travel voucher FREE! ($400/pair).
So basically if you plan to fly again on Westjet, you basically paying $540 (all-in) for a 7 day all-inclusive vacation!

^^^ shows on their website, but when I go to try and book it, it gives an error message. You might want to try screen-capping it, and then calling them.

They just changed over their reservation system, still might not be working online yet, but can be done over the phone. Inconvenience for sure, but will be fixed.
