While the trade will take time to prove its value, at this moment, it’s ugly and I don’t like it. Initial perception is that this is pretty lop-sided - Tre needed a ‘win’ this weekend - this isn’t it.

The guy just added two really good young pieces to the core, while shipping one young core piece the other way (Hamilton).
I just don't get why Fox had to be included.
Frustrating, but not fireable IMO. Especially if Fox was never going to sign with us.

I may be being shortsighted here, but whats the last trade the flames franchise has actually won?? Kipper from sj 15 years ago? Tanguay? Cammalleri?
The flames are a pretty hard to cheer for.
LindHolm and Bennett better suddenly figure their ish out or this team is going to likely suck again.

i think the trade was horizontal at best... now if Fox was never planning to sign here, and DH was an issue in the room...
well, maybe its a deal you can palate...
this is the last chance for BT though...
not sure if hamilton was that much of a steal either...with that 15th pick next four guys picked were Senynshyn, Barzal, Connor and Chabot... plus 2 nds...? i'd have taken any 3 of those guys plus 2 nds instead of hamilton

If they thought they could sign Fox he's not in the trade. Not that tough to figure out.
So the Flames got two young Top 6 picks who almost everyone thinks will get better for Dougie, Ferland who is not a top 6 forward and a prospect they weren't going to be able to sign. I do not see how this trade provokes this kind of venom.

For me he's on Strike 2. Its going to be an interesting year for Brad though. Flames stumble out of the gate and miss the dance again, Strike 3.
