Why is it so difficult? The Flames best players failed. Just like last playoffs.

Without doing any research at all into comparables, that seems like an exceptional stat.

I think some of that falls on the GM; He has to have a better vision for the top line. Johnny and Monahan may complement each other offensively but they are not built for the playoffs. Top line needs players who want to win, are driven, and have a mix of intangibles, grit, speed, size, skill. Just having offence ability isn't going to cut it. .

Head Coach - Johnny was a different player under Hartley. IMO a better coach maximizes the talent we already have, if you can improve all players a bit that is better than almost any trade you can make.

We can't keep auditioning unproven coaches - pay one of the best available coaches whatever it takes to get them to come here and give them 4-5 years so the players know the coach isn't going anywhere.

Totally disagree with hiring a retread coach. Give it to Ward and see what he can do with a better team. Make a big trade, land a big UFA and move Gaudreau for draft choices.

Trade Gaudreau.

I think you can get return and change the shape of the roster it will change the culture more than any coach.

No coach in a decade has been around long enough to even create a culture of their own.

Win the Stanley Cup.

Thats the most i care about, and if this core did it, then they would have learned to play solid playoff hockey.
