It does have two screens with a refresh rate and combined resolution higher than the DK2, and you can adjust the ID, so that's part of it.

According to them, they're selling them at cost.

I'm not planning on using it for any kind of app, it's pretty much all gaming for me.

The space sim/flight cockpit genre is the major thing for me. Having tried EVE Valkyrie and with Elite Dangerous & Star Citizen that alone is it for me. Everything is extra bonus.

(I wonder if older stuff like TIE Fighter could be made compatible by people as well.)

Interesting comment... TIE Fighter was on of my favourite games. But consider the design the of the TIE fighter... if you could look left and right (which you can't, unless they make the front bubble more round and move the pilot seat forward), you still couldn't see beyond those damn things on the side, whatever they're called.

When I say app, I include games. A WWI or WWII flight sim would probably immediately suck me in, but I think it would need to be programmed for the rift to take advantage of it no? Over Flanders Fields, for example, awesome but I think the Rift would need something more.

I would imagine FPS, Flight sims and driving games would the be the easiest and first supported games. Those have to be the easiest for sure.

Heck, I wouldn't mind just being able to see the 3D in things like XCOM - they're already setup in full 3D anyhow.

EDIT: Oculus now shipping in June. Sales keep coming in . . . I wonder how many people are buying just to scalp them.

Playstation VR Pre-order is up on amazon.ca!! Don't worry about the price, can always cancel and they'll update it - I'm sure it's just a place holder for now . . . maybe. LOL, Amazon's made up price = $1,125.35

http://www.amazon.ca/Sony-Computer-E...tag=8013018-20

EDIT: And now they locked it down. Hope you locked in! :P

http://vrfocus.com/archives/27649/oc...e-until-march/

The Oculus Rift’s March 28th 2016 release date is fast approaching, but those that will be lucky enough to actually get one on that date are already set in stone. Pre-orders now provide an expected shipping month of June 2016, and that’s likely to be pushed back even further with another two and a half months to go until these pre-orders close. Those that suspect the company might be creating artificial demand by holding some units back can rest easy, however, as kit creator Palmer Luckey has confirmed that every Oculus Rift that has been made or will be made before the end of March has already been claimed.

While I'm excited for PS VR because I own a PS4, I can't help but be super excited for what people start churning out on Oculus. It's going to get so weird.

Literally waiting until the devices have a pause mode that activates external cameras/mics on the exterior of the device so I can talk to my wife/kids etc. without taking it off. Also having a PIP might make it feel like less of an isolation box.

Done with the HTC Vive, You manually map out your play area, and when you come closer to the outside of the area a wall pops up. However, now they just added a camera that will overlay a blue "tron" like outline / view so when you get closer to the outside play area, you can see your famliy / pets in a blue outline... or press a button for even more detail. This should explain it better.

Got a new VR Oculus for free as a promo with my new phone over Boxing Week, I have no idea what to do with it.

Oculus pre-orders now sold until July. I'd hate to think what it'll cost by then with our dollar tanking.

They got a pre-order in for you? That's pretty cool, or do you have it in hand somehow?

I'm going to assume it was a Gear VR that was given as it was developed in partnership with oculus and is around the $100 price point.
