It was closed to process orders in the queue, which is why it was also still climbing but closed for further sales.

It's run by the Oilers. Everything they touch turns into a gong show.

Flames are using an identical system...hopefully they learn from last nights debacle and are able to actually run a 8 or 9 million dollar 50/50 for the upcoming games.

Lot of people saying their requests "timed out", and were subsequently charged for each attempt. Likely going to be some issues as that's a pretty bad look.

If the total remains over $15 million after it all gets sorted out, the winner of the 50/50 will likely end up taking home more money this year than any member of the Oilers (except possibly McDavid), when you take into account that lottery winnings are tax-free in Canada and the players will be getting a significant percentage of their salaries clawed back due to the lost revenue.

As much as E=NG, this is beyond the control of the Oilers and it's not like the Flames desperately pleading with this same web team about the expected demand will somehow make them able to handle it. After this mess of people being chareged $1,000+ extra in some cases, demand will be massively reduced.

That's what i mean.
Hopefully they can get some controls implemented before the next game. Why would they not after the lessons learned from yesterday? Or is there something preventing different controls from being used? (I know nothing about that stuff so maybe im completely wrong)
Im doubtful they and the Flames just sit back, cross their fingers, and hope it doesnt happen again.

There's not a lot you can do in such a short timeframe. The Wednesday game completely broke it, and they knew about Thursday and there's still not much you can do. You can severely limit sales, for example by geo location so certain regions can buy at a certain time, or a range of last names are accepted only in a given window, and then the system can stay afloat. Either way somebody will be unhappy.

Has anyone heard anything about when they will finally draw the 50/50 winning number?

Promise you'll help Connor make a welcome to Edmonton video for Lafreniere, with a guest appearance by Mark Messier. Don't forget to insert a subliminal "run while you still can" message at the end.

This would be the one time I would support a player for flat out refusing to report to the team that drafted him.
Trade me, trade me right ####ing now (now hang up)
