Why aren't there high res torrents of all the new movies then?

The only time i have seen high res fast is when they are leaked before the movie comes out in the theatre.

Because it takes too long to rip and code. Also, nobody wants to seed a 100+ gb for a single movie

Thats what I mean. There are NO dvd/bluray 1-5gig rips of movies recently in the theatre, so it's not just a corrupt worker bootlegging a bluray easy.

Oh sorry. when i meant high rez i meant dvd/bluray quality. Not 100gig 4k UHD rips.

The one exception is Academy Awards season where there are screener versions floating around for movies, including those still in theatres.

That's assuming the first couple episodes don't get leaked on torrent sites or a hacker gets the script for the season and posts it.
