I wonder how many of these reclamation projects work out?

Everyone is always going WOW, "Ennis, or Duclair for that cheap?

That guy once put up 18 points in a peewee hockey tournament!

We should claim him from waivers."

It seems to me like you might have a better chance at having a no name such as Yanni Gourde turn out then a guy who previously put up 40 points and then fell down the depth charts to borderline NHLer status.

As an aside - I have never in life seen an AHL GM get more credit for winning the Calder Cup than Dubas. Leafs PR/Toronto media really selling the guy.

That said - you'd have to be Pete Chireilli to mess up a situation where you've got a bunch of good/great players on their ELCs so think he'll have a long honeymoon period whether he's good at his job or not.

Im thinking the 4th line wont be getting a lot of icetime this season. Maybe the plan is to bring in guys like Ennis to play on the 4th line and keep players like Grundstrum on the Marlies for a season where they can get top line minutes.
