I did think that was a funny line, tbh.
The part I thought was rather ignorant from him was the idea that he wants world class players to challenge for positions. Danny, you've been on the rack for 6 months and Ben Davies has filled in rather well for you...and you can't really moan about not being paid what you're worth when you just signed an extension!
I know fans want signings to get excited about, and that is somewhat natural. It's no different on this board when it comes to the NHL trade deadline where fans like the shiny new toys. But seriously for the past 4-5 years Spurs have done business in August. If they sign Barkley and another player or two this month are they ambitious enough? I look at last summer and Wanyama was a fantastic signing. Janssen didn't look great this year, but he has 7 goals in 13 games for Holland so he clearly can score and could be a great backup for Kane. Sissoko is Sissoko...

I think looks pretty accurate, except that you missed the 1 in front of the 8 for WHU. I think Spurs take a step back due to Wembley and it being basically 38 away games. I will be interested to see how City gels with the new blood there. I don't share the confidence you have in United, but someone has to finish in the top four and they have made some good moves.
