Update on Daniels and Jorden:

While Stamps receiver DaVaris Daniels started practice with his teammates on Tuesday, he didn’t finish, and it’s not entirely clear whether he’ll be available to play on Friday against the Hamilton Tiger- Cats.

“He had a little soreness, started the day, about half a practice,” said Stampeders head coach Dave Dickenson. “I don’t know if it’s the colder weather, so that definitely makes me think about it. I had him starting and still might do that, but I’ve got to look at it now a little closer.”

Daniels has been out since suffering a nasty looking knee injury in the Labour Day Replay against the Edmonton Eskimos and has been getting close to a return for at least a couple weeks now.

The Stamps receiving corps did receive some positive news on Tuesday, though, as Kamar Jorden practised for a second-straight day.

“Haven’t had any issues with Kamar,” Dickenson said. “He’s expected to step back into his role and keep producing.”

Nice to see Jorden and Daniels back, particularly Kamar as he was having an all star season when he got hurt.

Hope to see DD use both backs equally...Williams deserves the time and saving Messam some wear and tear is a bonus. Cannot wait to get Spencer Wilson back and really really solidify that line.

Defense looks solid and Mayo in the wings. This is one solid football team start to finish.

Interview with coach DD and some video from practice - Nice to see Roy Finch back on the field and Daniels is also running and making tough cuts as well.

That is a real solid starting lineup.

Even more encouraging is the depth ... almost every position has a qualified backup healthy, and most positions have a quality National backup healthy.

Looking forward to an entertaining match this evening!

What happened to Pierre Lavertu?

I know he's been hurt since training camp. Is he expected back this year at all?

As most everyone knows by now, Stamps locked up the West Division title by virtue of the Bombers losing this past Saturday and will host the West final. Here are the playoff scenarios for the Bombers, Eskies, and Riders (BC is eliminated):

Remaining games: vs. BC, at Cgy.
Can finish: 2nd or 3rd

Edmonton (10-6)
Remaining games: vs. Cgy, at Ssk.
Can finish: 2nd, 3rd or 4th

Saskatchewan (9-7)
Remaining games: vs. Mtl, vs. Edm.
Can finish: 3rd or 4th

Tie-breakers
Edmonton vs. Winnipeg: Blue Bombers won season series
Winnipeg vs. Saskatchewan: Blue Bombers won season series
Saskatchewan vs. Edmonton: Roughriders won first meeting by 23 points; one more meeting to come
Three-way tie: Winnipeg gets second place, Saskatchewan gets third place, Edmonton gets fourth place

Well, if there's any doubt about the professionalism of Riders play-by-play man Rod Pedersen, this call of the pick-6 by Duron Carter puts that topic to bed (audio contained within link below).

960 played it earlier this week. Par for the course for Pedersen as he hates Mitchell.

I wonder if they (Stamps) are just being cautious with Finch. If this was a playoff game or if they hadn't clinched the West Division, he would probably be in the 46 man roster.
