Just to add one more note: there are way too many injuries. Way too many. In offline or online seasons. If I sim a game period in my online GM connected I assume I will have a guy injured and I'm actually RELIEVED if it's only one. Offline, I get an injury roughly every 2nd game. It's pretty ridiculous.

I'm bumping this for the sole purpose that I hope Jobo reads my post since I know he can talk to EA (occasionally anyway).
Why in the blue hell did they think having your Be A Pro be absolute garbage online was a good idea? The skating is broken enough without having to deal with someone who has the skating ability of a Novice hockey player. It's crap and ruins OTP entirely. I have 250+ OTP games from each NHL 9-12 (so like 1250 total). For NHL 13 I have 40 played. It's just terrible.

Does anyone else hate the hustle button? Is my old and arthritic left thumb just my own problem? UGH. I think NHL 12 is way better.

also, when you have manual line changes on, why does it at times change lines on you... shouldn't it just wait until you change lines? it does it randomly too and never even consistent on when

The recent posts make me laugh. I haven't played this game since October and it was the best choice I've ever made. Stress free life!

If your controller is even slightly off this will start happening. I have 5 controllers and only one does not do this.

It's not any better with Auto. When you change lines on Auto mode, I assume that my players will go to the bench. Basically I'm the coach yelling at my guys to change. It might be a stupid time to do it but that's my fault for triggering it then. Instead, guys will ignore me. For MINUTES. Why the hell?

Don't flick, hold back. I figured that out too but I'm still learning

I do them the same way you would take a wrist shot but backwards. So right thumbstick either left or right and pull back , win ~90% of draws against people who don't do this.

When do you start the motion? When the ref drops? As hes dropping?

The tutorial says to start the motion when the ref starts moving his arm.

It also has to do with when you line up.

It's a rock paper scissors game. If your opponent is using the same technique every time there is one technique that will beat him 95% of the time. It's either grip your stick one of two ways or try and tie him up, if you go for the tie up but he's holding the stick in the really quick snap back spot he'll beat you, if you go for the tie up and he's holding the other way you will win.

If I'm doing a tie up, I just continuously smash the left stick up. Seems to work for me.
Same if I'm trying to shoot off the draw, but with the right stick.

I pull to the right/left as soon as I line up, then start pulling back when the ref is about to drop it. Takes some practice to get the timing right

The tutorial says that the longer you hold that first right/left motion, the better your chances.
But I've found that to be nonsense.

My practice is not to put my stick down or line up until the ref moves into position with the puck. Then I go for the puck when he starts to move his arm to drop it.
