Nothing but snow on the ground at Yankee Stadium. Tomorrow not looking great either. I’ll never understand how MLB scheduling hasn't figured it out. Games should be only played for the first two weeks of April South of the Mason Dixon line, West of the Mississippi (with the exception of Colorado) or Domes.
So Edwin just hit an inside-the-park home run. I would imagine he would be somewhere in the bottom 10 least likely candidates in baseball to do it, although this is an odd one
Astros off to a nice start. Take last year’s rotation at start of season and add Verlander and Cole? You’d think they win another 100 games again. Of course baseball is fickle and injuries can derail a season but hard to imagine them not winning the division again.

Rockies signed OF Charlie Blackmon to a six-year, $108 million contract extension with player options for 2022 and 2023.
The new deal keeps Blackmon's $14 million arbitration-negotiated salary intact for the 2018 season (via a $12 million salary and $2 million signing bonus) and will pay him $21 million per year from 2019-2021. Blackmon will then have a $20 million player option for 2022 and a $10 million player option for 2023, subject to various bonuses and escalators. $108 million is a big guarantee for a guy who turns 32 years old in July, but Blackmon has put up monstrous numbers at Coors Field over the last three-plus seasons and the Rockies have now ensured that he won't walk as a free agent this winter.
