Islanders trade Neal and Yandle to the Wild for Eberle, Goligoski, and Kamenev
The New York Islanders today announced that they have acquired forwards Jordan Eberle and Vladislav Kamenev and defenseman Alex Goligoski from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forward James Neal and defenseman Keith Yandle.
"We needed to get younger," said GM TheScorpion. We examined a number of trade possibilities and came to the conclusion that Jordan was a player that significantly interested us.
"We're familiar with the services that Alex provides, and we're excited to reunite our top pairing from our long playoff run last season."
In addition to these two players, the Islanders acquire Kamenev, a highly-touted former second-round pick whose path to the big-leagues has been full of success. Will he make it with the Islanders, or will he be dangled in a trade?
Thanks to Jiri Hrdina for the negotiations. Always a pleasure, glad we could hammer something out.
