I think this is a great move for the team, and glad to see Sutter stay within the organization.

They should sign Phillips to be the new captain

He is clearly not an NHLer - I think it would be a great fit for him to be the captain and mentor for the Wranglers. Interesting he played so little on the Hershey playoff run. Does he try Europe?

Probably really hard to do before camps with PTOs/Vet signings/etc. but I would be curious to see what Scorps projected lineup for the Wranglers is? Who plays with who? I would hope Brz Gru and Poirier all get to 4 mins… who are the forwards to get excited about beyond Stromgren? It seems most of our forward prospects are either looking to make the jump (Pelletier) or are still junior age.

without any further additions:

Stromgren - Kirkland - Frk
Honzek - Morton - X
Kerins - Schwindt - Duehr
Ciona/Bell - Bishop - Gallant
Janicke

Grushnikov - Poirier
Jurmo - Brzustewicz
Aspirot - Kuznetsov

Cooley
Ignatjew

There's absolutely an open spot at forward, IMO, especially with Sutter retiring.

Awesome thank you.

Has Poirier played his off side very much? You expect both him and Yan to be the ones to play their offside? Exciting that we have Parekh and Mews as part of the RD prospect pool.

Looking at that list makes you wish we had a couple of young C/RW prospects in that early 20’s age group.

Kuznetsov has done it quite a lot. Poirier has, too — typically played with a lefty in Poolman the last few years.

Klapka? Or do you have him making the big squad out of camp along with Coronato and Pelletier?

I’d say there is a zero percent chance that all three of Coronato, Klapka and Hunt make the big team, so with that in mind I don’t see any more spots available on the Wranglers. I suppose there is the off chance we could get hammered with preseason injuries.

Wranglers had 29 different forwards dress last season; 19 who played 10 or more games
~16 have been named in the various posts above; they may need more

I just assumed it was for openning night. They will obviously need lots of warm bodies throughout the season.

Hey Scorp - any chance Lipinski plays with the Wranglers next season or is it almost certain he will be back with the Giants?

No idea. He'll have to sign if he wants to play.

Riley Damiani has signed with the Ausburger Panthers of the DEL.

* I guess this happened a couple of weeks ago.

Deni Goure was on a lot of people's watch lists as one of the top CHL overagers:

5'10'' 185lbs right shot

https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/nh...-ufas-to-watch

Quote:
Goure emerged as one of the CHL’s most dangerous overage forwards, battling within the top five of the OHL scoring race for most of the season. He’s a blast to watch with the puck, showing a nice mix of creativity and energy to create chances consistently. His hockey sense is among the best in this group, too – and that might be the one thing that helps him develop into a meaningful prospect somewhere. It’s one thing to score at a high rate as one of the oldest players in junior hockey – it’s another to outthink pros with the puck.

https://thehockeynews.com/ohl/player...by-seasons-end

Quote:
Though the Owen Sound Attack haven't exactly been winning a ton this season, Deni Goure is having yet another productive season. The speedy, toolsy winger has the ability to do everything at full speed. He has a dangerous shot in stride, and he has the ability to beat opponents down the wing.

Goure may be a smaller winger, but he's strong on the puck and doesn't give up in high-pressure situations. He and Sop's production this season is almost identical, and Goure has also been one of the Attack's go-to players.

Goure has been a high-end player in the OHL for the last three seasons, and a pro contract just seems inevitable for him. Between his quickness and ability to drive the puck at a high pace, he would translate to the pro level, potentially beginning in the ECHL.

Those two sound more like ECHL than AHL players.

The Rapid City Rush were gawd-awful last season, resulting in a high turnover of players.

Goure can score and Mylymok appears to be a scrapper.

It's funny that they're calling someone who took over 1300 faceoffs (and won over 700 of them) a winger.
