Would there be any chance Maddon would even consider the Blue Jays? Outside the fact Rogers won't pay him, or pay sooner than later for players he'd want sooner than later. Only because he spent so much time on Tb with young teams.

Plus I'm sure there will be a lineup of teams for his services. Seattle, for one.

If I was running the M's, I would give Joe Maddon a blank check and say 'fill in how much you need to come here', and then tell Scott Servais 'Yeah...I think we'll go with the guy who got Tampa to the World Series and won it with the Cubs'.

But since it's M's, I'm sure that won't happen.

Montoyo is from the same cloth as Maddon so i wouldn't worry too much. Kevin Cash is the same boat they don't always make the right calls but their approach to the clubhouse is very similar. Montoyo doesn't seem to be as outside the box compared to Maddon and Cash but Cash was more reserved his first year as well.

Oakland has sold 48k tickets for Wildcard Wednesday and has a capacity just North of 56k that they think will come close to selling out. My wife won't let me fly down for the game but it sounds like it is going to be a very fun atmosphere
