Tkachuk CHOKED tonight against the Oilers, people are gonna talk about it on a Calgary Flames message board...I wasn't the only one to call out Tkachuk after that last few seconds and OT

Man, I can’t believe how rattled I am after that game haha. Oilers should be in Jersey tossing territory after those last 2 games but inexplicably got every bounce possible to win. I think it’s just tough because the Flames are struggling so much but just can’t buy a break. And then to see the lottery balls do what they do best and fluke there way into w’s. Sports can be too cruel.

Bennett gets another point in a loss. minor penalty and couldn't win a face off with 8 seconds left. derp!
and why the hell would you start him and Tkachuk against mcbrokenleg in OT? lol

He is pretty selfish player...you love him, I get it
I was cheering for him tonight, until he said "#### d I want those sweet EN points" and handed the Oilers 2 points

and for the record I wanted to sell high on Tkachuk...when we were throwing around the "you can only keep one" talk last season I said trade Tkachuk every time. (partially because of the return)
I never said he was the greatest and could do no wrong when he was here...he has amazing hands but is a terrible skater and is very selfish. (and can't beat the Oilers)
He is putting up tons of points but the Panthers have gone from presidents trophy to bubble team if they are lucky

Calling Tkachuk selfish is a load of crap.
411 points. 162 goals, 249 assists and is excellent defensively.
Tkachuk is one of the best 200 foot hockey players in the entire league. He was that here, he is that in Florida.

He has let his feud's become bigger than the team
Doughty
Muzzin
Kassian
Kane
and he was totally cheating for an EN goal tonight instead of covering someone tonight. (which isn't the end of the world but when you hand the Oilers two points they didn't deserve that should piss off a Flames fan) He also left for totally selfish reasons IMO
Its a matter of opinion but I think he is more about himself than any team he will ever play on

not tonight he wasn't lol
looked like a bozo that had never played the Oilers in his life
and let's get the facts straight , Darryl Sutter made that 200 foot super line last season
in Florida he is still offensively gifted but merely ok at the 200 foot game

I thought he looked really good other than overtime. He's good. This team misses him.

I'm a tad bit surprised at the level of production for Tkachuk to start the year and credit to him for the start. I also remind myself that the style in the eastern conference is more open vs. the west and that he is still surrounded by some quality players. Tkachuk understands how he needs to play to compliment players around him.
However lets see what happens in the playoffs. The speed of the game amps up not only in the west, but also in the east. This is what gives him trouble and was my biggest gripe with him on the Flames, he couldn't hack it in playoff hockey. At the salary/term he wanted, if he can't elevate in the playoffs, I'm happy to let him go.

Final scores
https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/scores/2022-11-28
https://www.espn.com/nhl/schedule/_/date/20221128
The Stars with a strong road win, 4-1 over the Blues. Dallas has yet to lose when leading after 2 periods. Wedgewood had to start the game on short notice due to Oettinger getting sick just before game time.
The Devils must have made a deal with the supreme devil, they just keep on winning as the defeated the Rangers in MSG.
The Knights squeak out a SO win in Columbus despite going 0/4 on the PP. Tarasov was in net for the BJs and made 34 saves.

Tkachuk scored the opening goal and assisted on the tying goal and post like he was the worst player on the ice.
Tkachuk had elite defensive metrics dating back to his rookie season. Let’s not pretend like he became a 2 way force once Sutter arrived. 3M line was created in 2016 5 years before Sutter showed up

No deal with the supreme devil. They are just that good. The first period was a bit of a track meet, but in the end, the Rangers couldn't keep up with them. Sigenthaler was a sneaky good pickup.
This team is for real.

Sounds like someone who didn't watch the game but checked the box score
He assisted on the go ahead goal...but was partially responsible for the tying goal. It's frustrating that with a few seconds left he decided to not cover anyone. At that time in the game just grab a guy... certainly seemed like he was more interested in an EN goal.
He also taunted the crowd which is fine but then choked at the end of regulation and OT...should have won the game first. It was a fitting end considering his comments about Sutter not starting him in OT.
To be fair if it wasn't the Oilers nobody would have cared
