I also thought Trump said we were going to have a vaccine by election night.

Or was that maybe in 2 weeks? Perhaps next year. I never said that! Who said that??

There’s any number and I expect all of the major news outlets will have a popular and called EV tracker. But we won’t even start to see real results coming in until 5 PM our time.

I, for one, look forward to a day of peaceful exercise of the democratic process and rationality from all.

I'm out at a cabin in Deep Creek, MD instead of at home in DC this week. That's not because I came here just for a vacation, but because I'm legit worried about what will happen in my city this week. If my house burns down, at least it's not with me inside it... That is such a sad statement but here we are. Any other Americans on here, stay safe, and if you haven't voted yet, get out and vote!

I'll try to not be too partisan in this thread, but I'm really hoping for a Biden win so we can end this national nightmare. I never had to leave town for an election before...

Sorry man. That is actually tough to hear, I can't imagine having to do that as a Canadian. I think most Westerners feel that way.

This is the USA. It just boggles the mind there is more than a probable chance at violence over elections. I can't believe it still.

EDIT: I just saw on twitter "as a Canadian" is trending today haha.

It’s unreal. The country that claimed to fight for democracy globally for all this time is now fighting against it in their own country. It’s like a bad dream.

I go through the "as a Canadian" all the time even though I've been in the States since 2006. I'm definitely pining a bit for home these days.

I think Canadians are actually underestimating in some ways how pivotal this election is. For not only the US. But the well being of the entire planet.

This is a true historical pivot point. In my opinion.

I am very, very tired of living through Major Historical Events.

I want to return to a world where the news is airing filler stories about the dangers of deep frying your Thanksgiving turkey or how your Christmas tree is a fire hazard.

This has been the most boring election in my lifetime, I certainly hope tonight is the most boring night of the whole cycle.

I certainly haven’t met or spoken to anyone in the last 6 months who doesn’t think this is a huge ####ing deal.

I can’t imagine what it’s like to live in the states and discuss this. I find it incredibly contrasting to see how many people here (coworkers, strangers, acquaintances) bring up the election with no hesitation or concerns about there being a disagreement. There is one answer here, the other choice is a tire fire that will continue to #### up everything.

"May you live in interesting times" is an English expression that is claimed to be a translation of a traditional Chinese curse. While seemingly a blessing, the expression is normally used ironically; life is better in "uninteresting times" of peace and tranquility than in "interesting" ones, which are usually times of trouble.

I don't think anyone posting in here is underestimating this election though.

CP is pretty on board with it.

I live in Whitecourt Alberta. Plenty of people on this community seem to think it doesn't matter either way.
