He is another tiny no contact guy that is best suited to playing on the top 6 with big skilled aggressive line mates.

There is very small chance for team success with Gaudreau, Magniapane and Czarnik in the lineup.

The reason Czarnik choose the Flames is because he figures that he would become the best prospect in the organization and he might end up on a line with Monahan and Tkachuk.

Magniapane becomes specific injury call up.... Gaudreau or Czarnik.

This is pretty much a Jimmy Vesey like signing with 2 years of AHL experience.

No risk. Marchessault 2.0 at best; good winger for Stockton at worst.

New asset at low AAV.

Might just fit in 3rd line RW this year if we are lucky.

Much more like the Bruins signing Kenny Agostino last year after he tore up the AHL after the leaving the Flames. He got a 1-way deal but then spent basically the whole year in the minors. This is more money than that though so Flames are expecting an NHLer.

lol. It wouldn't even be as small a team as Tampa, who only lost to the Capitals because of scrubs like Dan Girardi on their blue line coughing up pucks and getting walked.

Kucherov - 5'10"
Point - 5'10"
Johnson - 5'9"
Stralman - 5'11"
Gourde - 5'9"

And with Tkachuk, Bennett, Jankowski, Monahan we would still have some big bodies to crash the net - moreso than that Lightning squad even.

I personally hope this rumour becomes news asap. Czarnik was my #2 target heading into the offseason after Kovalchuk so this would be Tre's best July 1 of his career.

Agent confirms the signing:

Brian Bartlett @BBarts
Congrats to @ACzarnik7 on the new deal. Calgary was the fit for Czarnik in hopes he can slot into the lineup with high-end left shot forwards.

Wow love that discription as to why he signed; Gaudreau, Tkachuk and Bennett is pretty tempting no doubt

This is exciting. I see him fitting on our top line.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Czarnik
Tkachuk - Backlund - Lindholm
Frolik - Bennett - Ryan
Mangiapane - Jankowski(/Shore?) - Lazar/Brouwer

That'd be the deepest roster we've iced since 06-ish

That's what I'm hoping for. Have him force his way in there and just provide unreal value and simultaneously push others down the line up helping the overall depth.

So we got a Paul Byron type back? I think clearly we are at the throw a bunch at the wall and what remains will be the bottom six. Which will be an improvement.

I'm just glad we don't have Glen Gulutzan around who would have typecast him on day one and then never tried anything different. Peters is known for experimenting with his lines.

Not as fast but probably a more natural scorer. Think Conor Sheary.

Ha, you never fail to sell Bennett as a C.

I’m not sure if we ever see him there again, not that I’m against it. I would rather see Lindholm at C.

There's a lot of competition for the bottom 6, and for players that you're hoping that will actually produce.

Tre definitely addressing that issue that was prevalent last season. Could make a big difference for next season.

5 goals in 59 NHL games and slotting him in the top line? He has to make the team.

Nobody is slotting him on the top line, we are just hoping he is a diamond in the rough, comes to camp and forces himself on the top line. He's got a lot of skill and ability.
