Flames need to be 5-0 against the Habs to have a chance. I am going to be invested until the math says it is impossible. I wouldn’t bet money on it but if this team starts rolling and Markstrom heats up perhaps there is an ability to go 11-2-1 which would give them 62pts which still might now be enough.

Beating the Habs is critical this is absolutely must win

4-1, 4-0-1 or 5-0 likely needed against the Habs.

Give em hell, see where you land.

The 5 games against Montreal are a playoff series. Unfortunately Montreal already “won” the first two, so the Flames have to go 4-1 or 5-0 to move on.

If the Flames go 5-0 in regulation against the Habs that would have them 4pts up with the Habs having 3 games in hand so still really out of their control. Any loss to Montreal is a near critical blow. Lose 2 and better hope those are the only 2 we lose the rest of the way and those represent at least half of Montreal’s remaining wins of the season.

This is a rather big game to keep the hope alive.

Going 5-0 against a team isn't really realistic. Going to have to make up ground in other games too for this to work.

But you need to get some momentum and put some doubt in their minds. Can't afford anything less than a regulation win tonight to kick things off.

Can we finally use the "Must win game" comment now?

I would love for the Flames to go on a rip and make all of the TSN and SN "experts" who have said the 4 playoff spots in the North are already decided look like fools. GFG!

The way I see it, this is the start of the season for the Flames. They are either good enough to make the playoffs and maybe make some noise, or they aren't. If they are good enough, they should be able to beat Montreal - a team that is nothing more than a bubble team.

I like how the Flames have been playing lately - much more pace to their game. They have been improving at both ends of the ice, so hopefully they can continue improving.

If they don't win tonight, then I will think of cheering for losses... well, definitely not cheering for losses, but much less upset about them.

Just win tonight and start salvaging the season. You have to look at this as the start of the season and forget about everything else that happened this year, or you look at this as the start of the playoffs.

I liked the character that the Flames showed yesterday after losing two important pieces from their room. Today is another character test.

Opening the door a little also lights a fire under the Canucks to play the Habs harder when they return too.

The more debris we can throw on their path to a berth the better.

Flames don't realize it .....their toughest opponent is THEMSELVES.

So ....Bennett is gone now so seeing it was all his fault , its all your fault, its all your fault 93 times it was your fault Sam Bennett!!!!!

We win now its that simple right? Just play the way Darryl wants FFS and who knows?

I wanna so badly sneak in unnoticed , against all odds , proving that we were wrong about these guys .....or maybe they learned something?

Losing Brodie, Rittich and Sam Blows donkeys .....but maybe there's the slimmest of skinnier chances we blow the doors off of everyone?

I'm hopeful. Go Flames......Darryls got unfinished business and I want that business completed .

Go Flames .....win win win

If we view the Habs as a non playoff team -and they would have to be if we were to be - then 11 of our last 14 games are against non playoff teams.
Still a hell of a reach, but 10-4 record is doable. Obviously the 5 vs Montreal are key.

We are the [Harvey] hound in this chase, and we need to catch the rHABbit.

As I see it, the main x factor is Carey Price. He can still have runs of really excellent play.

Price is still out; not even practicing with the team yet.

They have already played all 9 unless I am mistaken.

Edit HABs have a 6 0 3 record vs the Canucks. Damn that's almost as bad as Oil vs Sens
We need a team to dominate like that. I pick the Canadiens
