Not only being on the Kings, but seeing #88 was even weirder than #24

I remember his Carolina stint, just because of how they stuck it to the Oilers.

This game was so fun though. Best regular season hockey game I’ve ever been to.

It was also nice that Iggy's last NHL fight was at the Saddledome.

Mats Sundin as a Canuck.

I remember him being in the penalty box for several critical goals against, those were nice times.

Yeah. Glad he got in that tussle with Engelland. I think the crowd felt a little slighted when Iggy was back previously and they stopped him and Gio from throwing them. Probably best for Gio, though.

(And too bad Lucic wasn’t here then. He could have seen firsthand how his ex teammate and sure fire HOFer plays his old team)

Sundin as a Canuck was so strange - it really could have been a good fit but he waited for so long that he wasn't able to get up to speed until late in the year and in the playoffs. For the first month the timing wasn't there at all.

Realistically the best thing he did for the Canucks was not accept the 2 year 10 million per year offer that was made for him prior to his signing that year.

Does anyone remember when Steve Wochy played for the Red Wings?
If so, you're extremely old. Wochy is the last man alive who played in the NHL during WWII. He's also the oldest former NHLer alive.

Mark Messier as a Canuck. He's so much an Oiler and Ranger that anything else is hard to fathom.

Vincent Damphousse as an Oiler. One year up there between good stints in Toronto and Montreal.

A Swede, Czech, Dane, Pole, an American with a German surname, and another Czech...all have been Coyotes, half of them have been on the Avalanche or Panthers at one time or another; and there's more overlap with the Sens and Blackhawks.

Two were picked #8OA, two were #17OA...yet the best on the list was a 7th rounder. I knew Wolski and Mueller weren't in the league for very long, but I didn't realize Rundblad has already been in Europe for 5 years.

Maybe I need another thread for guys who I could never really distinguish in my mind.

I feel like some people are missing the point of the thread. Yes, of course I remember Fedorov playing for the Ducks and Messier playing for the Canucks. Their signings to those teams were huge news.

In contrast, I have no memory that Paul Coffey was ever a member of the Chicago Blackhawks.

David Jones being a member of the Minnesota Wild still seems strange to me.

Same with Sam Gagner as a Red Wing, Coyote, and Flyer. Trust me you had no idea he played for any of those teams.

Remember when Rene Bourque scored like eight goals in October as an Av? Or had stints in Columbus and Anaheim?

Remember Dany Heatley as a Duck? Or Marian Gaborik with the Sens or Columbus?

That's one I will never forget because of how much Canucks fans hate it still. Messier is still public enemy #1.
