Is it....is it my turn to say it?

Nobody can save the Edmonton Oilers.

Not Ryan Strome.

Not Ryan Spooner.

Not anyone named Ryan.

Nobody.

Spooner - 1 goal, 16 games, 4M
Strome - 1 goal, 18 games, 3.1M
Hagelin - 1 goal, 16 games, 4M
Pearson - 0 goal, 18 games, 3.8M

15M in cap hit this year for 3 goals. That's some bad looking contracts and underperforming players. I wonder who has the best chance of a bounce back. I'm thinking Pearson.

How are Spooner and Strome the same type of players

Strome is 6.1 195
Spooner is 5.11 191

Spooner is actually pretty quick, Strome is slower then congealed gravy
Strome has been killing penalties and is at least passable in his zone
Spooner by all accounts and adv stats a disaster without the puck.

But neither is doing anything offensively. But at least Spooner could probably kind of keep up with McDavid and Draisaitl.

In a controlled world this probably isn't a bad trade. But at best its a dofus for dofus trade.

it also shows to anyone who still hopes that Treliving can somehow "offload" Smith that in this cap world it's pretty much impossible to ship out a problem without taking another one on.

Chiarelli is amazing! Can they make him Mayor of Edmonton too? Maybe he can get Lucic to pave some roads?

Strome was 1+1 in 18 games, whereas Spooner was 1+1 in only 16 games.

The Oil are back baby! Chia pulling the strings, adding another ex-Bruin back into the fold. Worked so well with Lucic!

Sends a clear message to Rangers players to pull up your socks or we won't even hesitate to trade you to Edmonton - things are getting serious in NYC.

Did Strome's cubby in the locker room just say "Ryan S" and they thought they'd save wear and tear on the label maker?
