Yes maybe the points aren't there but game in game out he has been one of our better players, always creating chances, building momentum, and has just been really unlucky to not have about 10 assists, if janko, neal and backlund could finish he would be sitting at close to .6 ppg which is pretty good considering he's been on the 3rd line all season. Not to mention if he could not hit posts, or have goals called back
Bennett's luck is so bad, if Sam bought a cemetery people would stop dying.
Hopefully Bennett's buddies open this thread and poke some fun at him.
It just eventually has to result in production, either for him or his linemates particularly if he is going to be part of the 2nd line.
Seems everyone has different levels of patience. Don't know how long you can tolerate a 17 point pace before pushing him back down the lineup. Guess it really depends if the team is winning or not.
He was up there for 1 game... And looked dangerous all night. Backlund let that line down if anyone last night.
You give him long enough, until someone else down the lineup starts scoring I don't think anyone else deserves a shot in that spot.
I wonder if they will entertain the Bennett at C experiment again?
I am on board with giving Bennett a try there , but ultimately Peters job is to win, not get Bennett going. If Bennett cant drive offense on the 2nd line, I don't know why you wouldn't go back to Frolik. Or keep trying other options.
Bennett needs to prove he can generate actual goals.
If Tkachuk and Backlund ever have multi point games, guarantee you Sam has the 3rd assist on all of them and gets 0 pts. Juuuuuuuust shy of hitting the scoresheet lol.

If we counted third assists gio would be a 100 point player.
Watching that fight, how does Nurse not get an interference or holding penalty along the boards. You can tell Sam’s primary motive there is to not take an offensive zone penalty.

Bennett does everything but put up points on a consistent basis.
Really happy with the progression he has made, he is going to start potting in the points soon. I think he is running away with the top 6 position that Peters has rewarded him.
GG never did that for him.

Your true colors are showing. Why not say something tangible, intelligent, informative about the game instead of more drive by's on Bennett. Bennett showed a lot leadership tonight, that much was evident for everyone to see. Don't let your distaste for one player cloud the obvious. Luck is probably the last thing on Bennett's mind when he knows he helped his team win. Just last week Peters was saying that Bennett is working very hard and playing a very complete game. How can you see the clouds when you keep focusing on the gutter?

To be fair, Bennett worked his way up from the 4th line this season with his play.
Bennett is quickly becoming one of my favourite Flames. I have been rather disappointed with him the past few seasons, but man this year he is a new player. I don't know if it's Neal, new coaching, new training or a combination of all 3 and more, but he looks so freaking good.
