I always thought it was interesting that he and Harry Neale got the Flames/Canucks series in '89 as opposed to the much higher profile Kings/Oilers (Gretzky vs. his old team). I'm glad he did as it was a great called series.

Thanks for posting. I hadn't seen that before as I was around 4 or 5 years old at the time. Bob Cole's commentating adds so much to this no matter who you're cheering for.

Also re: Mike Vernon. To quote Shaq, "I owe you an apology. I wasn't really familiar with your game". The Flames were right to retire his number after that display.
