Just for comparison sake...

Horvat: 47G 26G 42A 68P
Klimchuk: 49G 26G 40A 66P

London scores more than 1 goal per game more than Regina (4.61 vs 3.54)

Last time he played in Lethbridge (with the Pats) he had 3 goals and an assist. He looked fantastic.

Well with how Ovi backchecks, the scouting staff and the brass shouldn't have an issue with that kind of effort...

Klimchuck with 2 more primary assists and a plus 2 in a 5-2 win over Lethbridge tonight.

In 53 games he now has 28 goals, 42 assists for 70 points (1.32 ppg) and is a plus 27!

Notable also that he is tied for the lead league with leading scorer Mitch Holmberg with 9 shorthanded points!

It is so exciting to hear about the progress for these guys. I really hope Burke makes some space for Poirier and Klimchuck to get into the lineup for the flames next season, or at least give them their 9 games before heading down to the heat.

Those stats sound pretty dang good. I think that he is a plus 27. I thought it was an interesting stat that London scores 1 goal more per game than Regina and Horvat has the same stats as Klimchuck.

Don't think either Klimchuk nor Poirier can play for the Heat next season; both are just 19 yrs

Klimchuk can't as a 1995 baby, but Poirier can as a 1994 baby

Poirier is a 94 birthday and can play Pro hockey fulltime next year.

Klimchuk is a 95 birthday, so either he has to make the Flames or he will be going back to Junior (which is most likely)

Both Poirier and Klimchuk can join the Heat when/if their team is eliminated from the CHL playoffs this year.

IIRC Poirier can. His birthday is around the time where next year is considered his 20yo season.

That is correct. At least it's been posted that way many times

yes. Same thing with Sven last year. Also, Culkin could have played in the AHL this season if the Flames had wished so.

Tanner Olstad ‏@TOlstad13 19h Want to thank my boy @morganklimchuk for donating his @NHLFlames jers to the "Jimmy Olstad Memorial" he'd be proud! pic.twitter.com/HqOoX1wXzC

Pretty cool thing Morgan did for a friend:

Jimmy Olstad was the father of Morgan's former Regina Pats teammate Tanner Olstad. Jimmy sadly passed away in January. There is a Midget hockey tournament currently being held in his honour at the Crowchild Twin Arenas in Scenic Acres, Calgary. Finals go this Friday.

https://www.hockeycalgary.ca/tournam...ial-tournament

I have a personal connection with this event as Jim coached me for a couple years in minor hockey. My memory of him was mostly as an intense coach, but also as a really great guy outside of the dressing room.

Not sure exactly what the fundraising is going towards for this Memorial Tournament (as I've been out of the country for a while), but I'm sure the jersey will be up for raffle/auction. If you have nothing better to do, perhaps drop by the arena, buy a ticket and take in some minor hockey.

Calgary Flames 1st rounder @morganklimchuk will report to the AHL's Abbotsford Heat tomorrow after the @WHLpats were eliminated yesterday.

Brandon Astle (Heat PBP) was under the impression both Kulak and Klimchuk would be reporting to the team when they returned to Abbotsford. Neither were expected to join the team to play the Marlies.

According to @gdrinnan Morgan Klimchuk @NHLFlames prospect has been assigned to AHL Abbotsford. @gdrinnan makes few errors, bet he's right.

Wh Abby? Is he allowed to play for the Flames?

Or they don't think he's ready for a cup of coffee in the NHL yet?

He did miss training camp so management probably wants to see how his game looks in Abby first
