Clouston did a fine job keeping Willie Desjardins system alive and well after the NHL came calling, but there have been rumours over the years that he isn't the most likeable guy.

Zach Fisher was a good Tiger. A shame to see him go.

Send him to Kansas City. The AHL is probably too much for him right now.

...So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "Give me five bees for a quarter" you'd say.

Now where was I? OH yeah, I had tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. And you couldn't get white onions because of the war. The only ones you could get were those big yellow ones...

Default UPD: Flames prospect Zach Fischer leaves Medicine Hat Tigers. Maybe going pro?

I don't think he can play pro this year until the whole season is over. Don't believe you can recall a guy from junior once you send him down except for emergency situations.

I guess if he was released and cleared waivers that would be work.

Fischer isn't under contract. Probably gonna get KC to sign him if they can't work out a major junior solution.

Pretty sure that rule is only for players younger than 20. Fischer is an overager and can leave junior for pro if he wants

This came up in another thread, regarding age to play in the AHL etc. A player turning 20 before Dec 31 is eligible to play in the AHL. Since he turned 20 in July, as per the CHL agreement with the NHL he can play in the AHL or ECHL. He just needs to be signed to a AHL contract as I don't know if the flames want to sign him to an ELC.

I think the idea is that the Flames would move someone in order to bring Jankowski up and then slot Fischer into the AHL roster.

But like FlamesFanTrev said, it's speculative.

He's eligible age wise.

The question is if you can recall a player from junior after he's been assigned to them. The Flames for example - can't recall Valamaki unless its on an emergency recall.

Adding prospects as part of a trade to move out a tougher contract to move, such as Brouwer? Or to balance a trade to make it more equitable? It's really not that hard to see.

Like I said, it was more speculation, since there has been trade talk since the opening roster was released. I'm wondering if the Fischer move was much like sitting a player so that they don't get injured while the trade is being considered.

Okay I see, I guess it depends on how it is written in the agreement. If it says the something like the players obligation to the team rather than something specific like until the players team season is over. Interesting situation, as I suspect the NHL/CHL agreement is slanted towards the team rather than the player so mid season players can't "hold-out" to be released.

Although this may not be the typical situation.

Because Valimaki is in his 19 year old year. He's considered a junior aged player. It's junior or the NHL for him and he can't be recalled except on an emergency recall.

All the rules are different if a kid is in his 20 year old and is an overager. He's not a junior aged player anymore. I'm fairly sure but where's getbak when you need him
