Ya, I guess we shouldnt be too surprised with Two top line wingers heading out and a top line Wing and 2C coming in and nobody else to fill the other wing our center depth is much better but glaring hole on RW.

The simple math of it.

Tenacious and a pain in the ass to play against. A little small, but defensively sound. I like it.

There is likely a minimum number of games that the PTOs were promised. Also, remember that they are trying out for every team in the league, not just the Flames.

I think Pelletier and Zary will be ready next season. Just need to try and fill the gap this season. Maybe one of them lights it up and gets a call up midway. Pelletier didn't have the best camp last season either but then found his stride once regular games started.

That 4th line, Rooney on the 3rd line and Toffoli on the 1st line seem like pretty good ways to neuter any attacking energy. Good looking 2nd line though.

No big surprises with the cuts, but a few things of note:

1. I know there are diverging opinions on him, but I do not think Phillips was given a fair shot. It seems to be suggest that the coaches simply do not believe in him and weren't interested in providing him a comparable opportunity to a guy like Eakin, Ruzicka, or Milano. Disappointing from my perspective. Hopefully he gets a chance somewhere else.

2. Zary going down seemed inevitable since he missed a ton of development time, but I thought he might get a couple more games. I get this one, though. I wonder what they told him because he had a great camp.

3. The Flames went through a ton of turnover this off-season and I understand them wanting to trim this thing down early to start building chemistry. Smart move and I think Sutter did say early on that the last 3 games would have rosters close to starting day line ups.

Would like to see Coleman play on topline. Similar north south game as Bennett who excelled with Huberdeau.

The only cut I disagree with is Phillips, he definitely deserved at least a game in the top 9

Phillips already on waivers? He deserved more time . As a royal fan I kinda want him to be claimed. Loved him on the royals.
