"But, this isn't... not in Germany."
This week, the teams travel to Austria... well, most of them. Quinton & Mattie try to find their Austrian destination in Munich and it nearly costs them. Instead, Tim & Rex take their time and now can sit around and do nothing, instead of trying to run the race while exerting minimal effort.
- Marcus & Michael (win Expedia points for trip to Peru)
- Glenda & Lumumba
- Linton & Sharik
- Derek & Claire
- Luis & Michelle
- Abby & Will
- Emily & Molly
- Aubrey & David
- Rich & Dom (Arrive 8th but have to recover lost hat)
- Quinton & Mattie
- Tim & Rex
- Aastha & Nina
- Cheese - Derek & Claire / Emily & Molly
- WhiteTiger - Luis & Michelle / Rich & Dom
- getbak - Marcus & Michael / Tim & Rex
- Fuzz - Abby & Will / Glenda & Lumumba
- Slava - Quinton & Mattie / Abby & Will
- EldrickOnIce - Aubrey & David / Aastha & Nina
- mile - Rich & Dom / Quinton & Mattie
- brocoli - Glenda & Lumumba / Marcus & Michael
- Amethyst - Aastha & Nina / Luis & Michelle
- csnarpy - Tim & Rex / Derek & Claire
- Hockey - Emily & Molly / Aubrey & David
- surferguy - Linton & Sharik / Linton & Sharik
It looks like Expedia has replaced Travelocity as the travel sponsor (they're both owned by the same parent company), so that likely means no more appearances by our friend the gnome.
Next week, the teams travel to Italy.

Not sure why this had to be 90 minutes. The amount of time spent in the yodeling contest was painful on a whole new level.

I agree. I'm glad I recorded it, so I could fast forward through most of that. I found the whole episode rather boring and all the tasks were so similar. And then the team that was never going to make it far... didn't make it far.
The only part I liked was when the personal coach got in trouble for not bringing her hat to the mat. Just wish they would have been eliminated as a result. She is not doing her business any favours being on the show.

I think it was 90 minutes because CBS wanted it to be 90 minutes not because it was such a great leg that they felt it needed to be longer.

These challenges are lame. Singing, dancing, ringing bells. Boring. I'm here to see people suffer.

"MEGA LEG!"
I guess this is how they're going to keep the episode count up while having no non-elimination legs.
This is the 34th race, how do so many people go on the race without practicing driving a manual transmission?
.
.
.
No rankings this week because the episode ended mid-Mega-Leg.

.
Next week, the Mega Leg continues in Italy.

There were a couple points where I wonder how people live. The girl who has no idea how to use a ratchet? Even the anatomy puzzle…pretty sure a lot of us could walk in and do that cold.
The most annoying people are the motivational speakers. It was also amusing to watch the one couple wander around for a while before realizing they had to drive to the next venue.

Heh. First time I have watched any episode of the race. This one was not good television.

The driving a stick thing makes me crazy. Of course you learn to do that before thinking about applying for this show!!!! Those poor cars. I was dying. I don’t think they got out of second gear.

That was always my plan if I went on the race. Get a partner who regularly drives a standard.
And the "no non-elimination legs" hype is shown to be meaningless with mega legs.
At least now I know who to avoid if I ever need a motivational speaker.
Loved the twin on the motorcycle task. "Everyone seemed to be having such a hard time, I was worried that I'd done something wrong, since it was so easy." But, yeah, overall the tasks made for boring television.

I was catching up on that last night, when I do my day/night swing and this episode nearly put me to sleep. I did enjoy seeing the Ducati's, though.
You occasionally wonder if someone is shamming with something they are struggling with. That one lady with the ratchet wrench...

That lady who kept saying she wanted to quit and go back to New York. What a brat. Throw her in the river.

Her dad seems like such a nice guy and he’s got to drag her around!

"I hear what you're saying."
"What am I saying?"
"You know... for me to read the signs."
This week, the Mega Leg continues and some racers are ready to quit after facing the smallest inconvenience.
I'm glad Sharik didn't decide to quit because I didn't want to suffer through another week of Dom's fake manic pixie dream girl schtick. Linton deserves a better partner though, hopefully she'll be better after getting some sleep.

Well...wow, I guess.
I can't see how anyone can ever hire Dom as a "motivational speaker" ever after this showing. What an utter embarrassment for her. Unless she's being hired about how not to motivate yourself/others for anything. I'm actually glad she's out of the race.
Sharik...WTF? What a whiny little brat. I feel so, so bad for her dad. I wonder, if she HAD quit there, if that would have irreparably damaged their relationship. Linton seems awesome and he deserves an actual partner, not an anchor.
I really like Glenda and Lumumba's energy. I hope they get it together and start knocking the legs out.

Wow.
Glad the pink team is gone! She must be the worst motivational speaker of all time. Once Sharik started whining, I was afraid that the pink team would be spared again, but thankfully not.
Although with Sharik's whining, I was ready for her to be gone as well. You know who else has anxiety, Sharik? Kim Holderness... who won the whole thing last time. Not to mention their strategy of him doing all the road blocks sounds like the worst strategy of all time. Unless they are bringing back Zak and Flo rules for this edition?
Glad to see Glenda Lumumba be nicely ahead of the last two teams, because they were much less annoying. At least for now.
Regret not choosing Emily and Molly for one of my teams. I'm cheering for them ahead of my remaining team.

I like your team though? They seem like good people and they’re not super annoying. Maybe they’re over shadowed by Sharik and Dom though? I feel like that’s the case for either Abby and Will or Derek and Claire (I get them mixed up and just fine one of those two teams somewhat annoying!)
