I really hope the Mario movie doesn't suck, because my kids are addicted to everything Mario right now and it will be on repeat in our house regardless of how good it is

Are they trolling us? Does Mario lose and regain his accent as a plot device? Why is the penguin king dude a far better voice actor than Bowser?

They probably realized that those kinds of over-the-top cultural depictions, stereotypes and caricatures are offensive. It’s 2022, that kind of cultural appropriation is no longer acceptable in mass media.

Hopefully they can ugly Sonic this before release. And then hopefully we get an equally funny ugly voice actor type situation in a future movie ...
