Evolution of team logos
Saw this on reddit and didn't see this posted anywhere else here, thought it was cool and worth a look:

I'm a pretty big fan of the Sabres 96/97 logo and the Capitals 95/96 logo. Also the Bruins 48/49 logo is worth a laugh.

Also, the first LA Kings logo is probably my favourite. They should go back to that instead of the boring silver and black.

Is the black Flaming C an unofficial logo, or did they just not pay too much attention to our franchise?
I've always loved the oldest Sabres logo/jersey. If I was a Sabres fan I would definitely rock a retro Lafontaine jersey.
But I'm not... so my retro Flames jersey suits me juuuuust fine.

The thing I don't like about the black flaming C is the lack of contrast between red and black and also the fact that yellow and white outlines pretty much blend together, looking like one thick outline when seen from distance.
This is how our logo IMHO should be outlined:

I like the classic styles of logos like the Flames and the Flyers.
A truly good logo represents the brand and to do that really well you shouldnt really have to change it.
When you see teams with a half-dozen completely different logos you wonder what they're thinking.

I disagree. The black C is awesome. Not to mention holds the title of "best jersey launch in NHL history".

I like black on the Flames, including the C. Makes the colours stand out more IMO.

I feel like this list isn't complete, although maybe I don't understand what qualifies as the official logo. But this list makes the Flames logo look a little more consistent than it actually was, as it doesn't include our foray into the Flaming Horse, and it doesn't include the black C that is on our current jersey. Seems like it's missing some of those changes for Calgary for example, but includes those slight nuiances of logo changes for many other teams.
Also, would have loved to see the list include the logo's from teams from their "previous" locations, like Atlanta for us, Minnesota for Dallas and Quebec for Colorado, etc....
