Yep I gave up on Star Trek discovery and am on team The Orville for good. Season 2 was excellent and I can't wait for a third.
I don't even mind Bortus. His storyline has been dull at times but it had a solid payoff. He is also responsible for some of the funniest moments on the show with the smoking, dancing, and moustache all coming to mind.

Just got myself caught up. One question, it would appear that Dr. Finn was able to time travel just before the Orville was destroyed. Why then did she vanish after the memory wipe? If it's because the timeline was restored, so the alternate timeline that she left from no longer existed, then the memory wipe would also fail- wouldn't it?

Fallout from the Disney sale? It was announced at Comic Con that season 3 of The Orville will now be airing on Hulu rather than Fox.
This may or may not have any impact on how or where it airs in Canada.
Season 3's premiere has also been pushed back to late 2020.

Disney doesn’t own the Fox TV network, so it’s likely something else.

That's the point. Disney owns the show and Hulu, but not the Fox network.

My apologies, I figured you thought Disney owned the Fox network and didn’t want to air it anymore. My bad.

Why would it be on Hulu instead of the Disney streaming service?

I'll probably be getting the disney streaming service for all of the marvel and star wars content. If they move Orville to Hulu and off of Fox and its not on regular TV I probably won't be following as much as I love the show.

Disney owns ABC - you’d figure if they wanted it on a network, it could at least be moved there.

Here's an article with more details on the move. On the whole, it seems to be a mutual agreement:
Quote:
“But as the show has evolved and become more ambitious production-wise, I determined that I would not be able to deliver episodes until 2020, which would be challenging for the network. So, we began to discuss how best to support the third season in a way that worked for the show. It’s exactly this kind of willingness to accommodate a show’s creative needs that’s made me want to stick around for so long.”

They have to give people a reason to keep paying for Hulu. If they put everything on Disney+, they won't need Hulu anymore.
The first two seasons were already made available on Hulu and it is apparently one of the more-popular shows on the service.
