Default The Random Movie News & Discussion Thread

Always wanted a reason to start a thread regarding various movie news, and this one is pretty juicy.

Now I am sure everyone by now has heard how much of a dick Bruce Willis is (most notably from Kevin Smith). Well today's tweet by Sylvester Stallone on the set of Expendables 3 sort of proves that.

GREEDY AND LAZY ...... A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE

That tweet is in regards to Willis leaving Expendables 3 and being replaced by Harrison Ford. Now if anyone saw Expendables 2 they shouldn't be surprised, as Willis barely did anything during the film (even refusing to say his own catchphrases). It's no wonder Willis has made so many straight to DVD movies recently, as obviously some people in Hollywood are shunning him.

Read the story here: http://variety.com/2013/biz/news/syl...74931/?_r=true

Oh and in case no one has heard about Kevin Smith talk about his issues with Willis while directing him in Cop Out, here is a quick summary on Youtube.

If I were Willis I'd be greedy and lazy too... when you're a multi-millionaire who cares!

I get the "Greedy and lazy" part of the statement, but the "career failure" thing?

Uh pretty sure Bruce is doing just fine in that regard. I'm assuming he is at that point in his life and career that he can pretty much pick and choose his projects and do what he wants.

Someone should probably tell him that, because most of the movies he stars in are awful these days...

Yep I think the Die Hard wannabe movie released this year might be the worst movie I've seen thus far in 2013. It flat out sucked, as a Die Hard movie, or as just a regular action movie. RED 2 also was pretty awful, and never should have been made.

I believe it was Steve Martin being interviewed after he did one of the Pink Panther movies, and the interviewer asked him why he did such a terrible film. I believe he said something along the lines of "That movie allowed me to buy a very nice Monet piece" or something along those lines.

So yes you and I (and the general public) may think the movies Willis is choosing lately are terrible, but what is to say he isn't enjoying working on them and collecting a nice little cheque at the end of the day too?

Or Michael Caine on his involvement with Jaws 4: The Revenge “I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific.”

Although Willis has also started doing straight to DVD movies, which I doubt he gets paid a lot for.

Wesley Snipes in the Expendables 3?

Awesome.

That is a movie franchise that delivers exactly what it promises. Machismo, guns, explosions, and great action.

Wow what a dick, hopefully he was just hung over or sleep deprived that day. He sure is alienating a lot of people in Hollywood all of a sudden.

@DamonLindelof
There should be a KickSTOPPER to get Harrison Ford OUT of Expendables 3.

Why would anyone be against Harrison Ford being in the Expendables? Unless they think he is above that standard of bad movies. Although Mel Gibson is going to be in the movie as well, and they both have pretty stellar movie careers. So shouldn't Lindelof feel the same way about him?

Maybe he needs some practice before the next Star Wars movie?

Maybe he is addicted to making a lot of money with as little effort as possible?

After listening to that clip, I'm pretty sure I'd be a d**k to Kevin Smith if I had to spend more than 5 minutes in his presence. Dude loves the sound of his own voice - could he have said 'make pretend' a few more times?
